Hi,

I worked at my University as a Graduate Assistant while doing my Masters in the USA. It was a part-time job and a paid position (my fee was waived and I get some amount as a stipend). I can get a letter and I am having a w2 for this position.

Currently, I am working as a Software Developer (NOC 2174). I am having this Software experience for almost two years.

So, my query is In this situation, Can I claim my Graduate Assistantships experience under another NOC 4012?

I am making 2173 as my primary experience.

Please, let me know if anyone has any knowledge of this.

Thanks

i have been interested about knowing this.

Search for a similar thread on canadavisa. I think somebody made for 4073? 4013? I can't remember but it was about TAship. It was the most information I ever got about this profession. It's worth checking out IMO.

If you have, Can you share the link? I am unable to find the answer to this in any sense

Yes you can. I claimed my Research Associate position while doing my PhD in Germany under NOC 4012. And currently, my primary NOC under which I applied is 2121.

Same case here. But I didn't claim points for my GA role as my primary job was for 3+ years. Depends on your case. I would not add it if you already have 3+ years on that 217x NOC job, just to avoid the hassle of getting additional documents.

Hi, quick question about this. Does IRCC count month to month for your Research Associate position (like Aug 2019 - May 2020) or do they count the academic year as a whole year?

I am trying to claim 2 years of GA at 15hr/wk but my employment letter states the duration as Aug - May for both years, so it would technically not be enough hours for a full year of employment...

They will count date- month to date-month. So, 1st Jan to 31st Dec is counted as 1 year. unfortunately your GA is not 1 year complete. Moreover, it’s part time so you need to calculate it for full time.
