Please provide information about monthly payments for kids which deposits by the govt to your accoint. How much they give for 3 kids of newly immigrant family?

Is there any benefit not to take this money? Or it is for everybody?

How to apply for this benefit?

Not sure if that's entirely accurate:

(http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/bnfts/cctb/fq_qlfyng-eng.html#q4) states "you or your spouse or common-law partner must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a protected person, or a temporary resident who has lived in Canada for the previous 18 months, and who has a valid permit in the 19th month."

The 18 month provision only applies to temporary residents. Unless the OP is a temporary resident, s/he is eligible to apply immediately. We were handed forms at Pearson airport after we completed our landing and were encouraged to submit them ASAP.

This forum isn't the best place for this advice because people just love to complicate simple procedures here! As a PR, you are immediately eligible for the canada child tax benefit. If you apply now, you'll hear back from them around June-July, around July 20, 2015 you can expect the first payment. Depending on when you landed, you'll also get paid in arrears.

Depending on your household income for the past 2 years, you could qualify $300-360 per kid maximum (if the new rules come into effect in July '15), plus $100-160 per month per child under 6 years old.

My advice would be to visit the nearest public library, and they will guide you to the nearest immigrant settlement services, or they may have settlement services to offer for themselves.

As well as the CCTB, also apply for the GST/HST Credit by filling Form RC151 http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/gf/rc151/rc151-fill-14e.pdf

These benefits are for everybody and there is no reason why should not claim these benefits.

The fact that new pr holders get benefits immediately is just unfair to Canadians who actually pay for them. In my opinion (and I am not Canadian yet) even with pr you would have to wait at least 1 year (work, pay taxes, etc.) in order to be eligible for benefits.

please don't confuse newcomers with opinions. most of them are already confused out of their wits with all the jargon thrown here and there. Fairness and justice are idyllic concepts which do not even exist wholly in the law.

I'm speaking from very recent experience, PRs do get CCTB if they intend to permanently reside in Canada for the tax year(s).

Yes. If you look at my first reply to your question, you will find the link for information on Quebec benefits .

It depends upon your income and the province you live in. However there is fixed UCCB payment (which is CAD 100/month for every child under 6). CCTB depends upon your previous year world income( which is your income in your country before coming to Canada.)

And yes, they do not ask for documents to prove your worldly income.

I think it's odd that people are talking about the CCTB as if it's a standard benefit -- it's not, it's means tested for lower income families. UCCB is the only universal child benefit.
