got visa approval letter but confusion about visa validity period..

today i got visa approval letter from CIC .Allhamdulillah.... but i need to know about my visa duration ...my classes will start in may ..but i need two months for preparation like accommodation and stuff. will my visa validation period start now?? .. everybody says that cic will not give me visa stamp so early... pls if anyone here do know about visa validation period pls reply...

Either It depants on When you course start and finsh or Or till your passport valid.
The date of your visa starts from should appear on visa.
Could you tell about your case please?

i have applied for study permit.. my course will start in may 2014
application filed : 29/12/2013
med reqst: 09/01/2014
med done : 14/01/2014
passport request : 24/01/2014
visa issued : waiting

What is the date when you have to come to the University (usually for "information week" or something like that)? This you date to come to Canada.
You do not need two month for that. May be couple of weeks but NO MORE if we speak about "accommodation" and not something else.If you plan something else during those two months you should have VERY GOOD reasons for convincing an officer at POE.

HELLO,
here is my case:
i submitted my application at 13 december for a study permit application and there is someone of my friend submit at 20 December

who admit on 20 December got refused at 11 January
and about me till now i still don't have any answer

from Beirut Lebanon

i contacted them about my application they said they r waiting the security checks results

can any one or any expert in dis experience tell me if am in good position or in bad position ? and my university got started at 6 January already
any idea? guys am tired of waiting its almost 42 days

thanx fahad .. i m going to windsor university canada... but i m still confused .. cic hs sent me approval mail but passport status still showing that your additional documents r being processed at the singapore visa office .... what does it mean ??? ???
