Hello Mr. Advocate,

I'm no expert.. but let me tell you my personal opinion.

A very good choice of course, considering your background. Your profile looks pretty good to me.The choice of course is perfectly fitting your background Everything looks good.

However, this course in my opinion, is not universally applicable like an Engineering, Science, Business, Architecture, Design etc. qualification... and I seriously doubt what will be the employability of this qualification, once you come back to India..as everything you learn will be as per Canadian Law. (That's what, I'm pretty sure, the VO will be looking into.. the employability factor of this course back in your native country, and this course indicates your desire to go down from a practicing lawyer to a paralegal (lower in hierarchy), clearly displaying your intention of immigrating.) I've heard, graduates of NLSIU, Bangalore (the top law school of India), being placed in high paying law firm jobs across UK, as our law is similar/derived from the British constitution. Even though, Canada is part of commonwealth and the roots lie in British constitution, I am not aware as to how well they are similar to Indian law. Although, the main issue here is moving from a practicing lawyer to a Paralegal. And, this does not look good.

If you could go for something like actual Canadian lawyer's conversion course (if there are any), then it would be better...

I've given you the two sides/ pros & cons of a person of your qualification and experience with a good profile, going for a lower hierarchy course, even though it will be a PG credential.

Hence, it's really difficult to predict what might be the outcome of your visa decision.

Best of Luck.

There is a member from India, on this forum, who is a Doctor..dentist.. a fresher...and going for a dental hygienist PG cert. course... and even though it's moving down from being a dentist to a dental hygienist, that course is in medical field.. universally applicable and on top, there are heck lot of complications to convert an Indian Medicine/Dentist degree to that of a Canadian one. But, same cannot be said about moving form a practicing Indian lawyer to that of a Canadian paralegal. There may not be any issues at all, and you may get the visa... but incase you don't this has to be the reason.

Yes, i can see.. THIS is one of the best course suiting your profile... but again I quote from my above post: " I seriously doubt what will be the employability of this qualification, once you come back to India..as everything you learn will be as per Canadian Law. (That's what, I'm pretty sure, the VO will be looking into.. the employability factor of this course back in your native country, and this course indicates your desire to go down from a practicing lawyer to a paralegal (lower in hierarchy), clearly displaying your intention of immigrating.)"

HR is a good option for those with a law degree.

So, can't say.. what really will happen!

Another option, after LAW, is to do MBA in HR in a Canadian University.... very good choice, and you with work experience, perfectly meet the criteria. There are MBA's in Universities such as VIU (Vancouver Island University), where no GMAT or work ex or 70% in graduation required, and you can easily apply with your current qualification/experience. Instead, of applying for this Paralegal course, you can try getting admission into VIU MBA, and then submit your visa. It's a 14 months (or 16 months with foundation course) and you'll get 3 years PGWP. On top, MBA is a universally applicable field...open to people of diverse backgrounds. You must definitely consider opting for an MBA at VIU or of similar Universities, where 70% in graduation or GMAT ids not required.

Or, if you feel..it will be again a bother to take admission into VIU MBA, or you may not be able to afford the course, then it's up-to you..and you go ahead..apply for Paralegal course under SPP. May Bhagwan be with you.
Best of Luck.
