I emailed the Canadian Consulate in charge of my application regarding this issue but got no reply. My CoPR expires in June. The deadline for sending passports is 2nd week of January but I am travelling until mid-February.

That gives me two choices: cancel my trip (with heavy financial consequences) or take the risk of sending my passports after mid-Feb.

What do you suggest?

No one dares to answer? :D Seriously, is four months plenty of time between passport sendoff and COPR expiry (in which case I should just go on my trip) or should I not take any chances and send them now?

Did you try asking CIC for an extension in deadline?

Why dont you send your passport from your holiday destination, get your Visa stamp and land whenever you plan to come back to canada. I dont think that should be a problem for you, unless you are from a country that restricts mailing passports like India.

I don't understand. How did you get your CoPR, but not your passports stamped?

You should probably send your passport and cancel your trip. It would be a really foolish thing for you to save $$ and risk losing your PR. But that's just me ! ;D
