Hello Everyone?

This is my status of the Sponsorship Application

1) Application Received - March 25th, 2013
2) Approval of Sponsorship - April 17th, 2013
3) Passport Request from New Delhi High Commission - April 29th, 2013
4) Send Passport - April 30th, 2013
5) Passport Delivered New Delhi office - May 2nd, 2013

Now, i am little worried about this. The Passport request came in one month!! I haven't heard or read anywhere that Passport Request comes in one month only. This is what is written in the letter:

In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the
following as soon as possible:
• Payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in
Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
• Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period
of 6 months or more, if not already submitted.
• Submission of original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your
accompanying family members. The picture in the passport for a child under 6 years
of age must have been taken within the last 3 years. The picture in the passport for a
child between the ages of 7 and 18 must have been taken within the last 5 years.

We submitted the landing fees and PCC along with the application file in CPC Mississauga. Now, the only document we have send is my Passport!!

1) IS it a good news? if it is then when should we expect the VISA stamped on my Passport?
2) is it possible that the passport request comes in one month only?

Please help!!! :(

This is normal. The ND VO requests the passport very early in the process (before the application has been fully reviewed).

Thanks for the reply. So, when should i expect my Passport back?

Even people from April 2012 have not received passport back. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but it could be anywhere from 1 month to 10 months til you see your passport again.

Don't be sad! Stay positive. My passport has been with NDVO since October, 7 months now.

That's the reality.

Thats really sad!! 7 months???? :o

My husband told me the other day that he was in the Gym listening to the news where Mr. Stephen Harper (Prime Minister) gave a statement that they are expediting the process of spouse sponsorship cases from India. I wonder if they are doing so, why is it still taking so much of time?

What kinda f wedding was yours? Love or Arrange? Technically, Love marriages have lot of evidences to prove that there is a True Marriage! Thats what i think. Rest, either God knows or the Visa Officer ???

Mine was a love marriage, first marriage for both, both in our mid 20s, both of us have similar educational and financial backgrounds, same religion and same caste. We were dating for 7 years before marriage. We had a normal Indian sized wedding, lots of pictures to prove it, emails between my dad and husband, pictures of holidays we took together, pictures of us with each other's families when on holiday together, hotel bills, phone records, you name it.

I have an extensive travel history, I have studied in the US and lived in another country since childhood, so I had to submit PCC from 3 countries including India. And I have vacationed in 14 other countries. So I have been told that may be what is causing the delay. Which I think is ridiculous. But what can you do...

As for the comment from Mr Harper, I really have no idea. In any case, 7 months of my life have been spent here.

What about you? What is your story?

Awesome!! Mine is love marriage too <3... We have dated for 4 years before wedding! Now, i don't have much of a travel history. However, I have been to Canada twice on my student visa but came back before my visa got expired. Also, i haven't stayed for continuos 6 months in Canada.

7 months are too bad!! Did your husband visit you in this time frame?? I can understand how hard it would be for you. Mine 2 and half months have passed and it is already so frustrating. :(

I wish u all the best! Do let me know whenever your Visa gets through. Cheers!!

i am still waiting for passport request from ndvo and my e-cas showing "application received" there is no third line showing "in process" what its mean they are not looking for my file or they are waiting for what they still working for dm.

Yeah he visited me. But I had to quit my job to come to India. Didn't expect to be here this long.

Anyway, you may get done quick. Just stay positive and keep busy!

Don't worry. ECAS is not very reliable.

For some people it showed in process even when they had the visa in hand.
