Got my visa with Edu loan of 5.5 lakhs

Hey Guys!

I got my visa stamped from delhi CHC today. One month back i was rejected under SPP. I reapplied under general category and got it today. And here is my profile:

10th - 86%
12th grade - 75%
BTech - 66%

IELTS - 7.5
Tution Fees paid : Complete one year (because its refundable if visa is refused.)
Education loan : 5.5lakhs I want to stress this out because many seniors like OCEANDRIVE washed out my confidence saying that the loan amount is not at all enough for getting visa. Visa rejected under SPP : 22 June 2012
Reapplied on July 3rd
Medical Call : July 12th (did medicals twice. read the story here : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/updated-topics/-t111139.0.html;topicseen )
Passport returned after Medicals : July 25th
Visa stamped : July 30th
Passport returned on Aug 3rd.

In my experience, if u pay first year fees, u have to show rest CAD $8,000+ CAD $2,000 as loan (which makes it around 5.5 lakhs).

I am going to Centennial college, so those who are waiting visa for studies in college, never lose hope.

Apart from SPP checlist, i added
Form16 and salary cert. of me and my father.
A reference letter from my father stating that he will sponsor my expense in canada (for one year, $22000)
Exp letter from my current company
A letter from college stating that i paid full one year fees.

No other docs like bank balance, bank statement etc..

and yes, OCEANDRIVE negate me a number of time, on the issue of loan. He says no matter what you must have 80% of fee plus expenses even if you have paid all the fee etc. I think your case, world.citizen's case etc. should clear the issue now.

@Inam : Thanks bro. And ha, u r right. i don't know why these guys are misleading people. Its clearly mention in the checklist that Copy of an Educational Loan from an Indian Chartered Bank equivalent to at least 80% of tuition +living + travel expenses for one academic year (normally, first year's tuition, unless already paid, plus $8000) This means, whatever fees (first semester, or first year fees), you pay to college, you can deduct it from the loan amount. My experience is a clear example.

Just a year tuition fees which u have already paid. and 5 lacs which is for a yearly expanses (the loan you must need to take on your name or it can be ok on parents name too). What about return tickets and all. and do you also need to show your father's bank balance or just pay slips or a declaration from your father.

Hi kavya, thanks a lot.

If you have already paid any amount to college, u can deduct that amount from your loan amount. If you already paid complete first year tuition fees, then you should show around $10000 (X 55 = 5,50,000/- ). As the exchange rate is fluctuating, its better to show loan of 6 lakhs. This 10000 dollar includes living expense of 8000 dollars and other expenses like return flight ticket (2000 dollars) and all..

Loan should be in the name of the applicant. For doubts regarding docs, dont worry. Just follow whatever given in the visa checklist. Its always better to include a well written SOP.

You again applied under general in which 80% is not a must but highly recommended in the general check list.

Yes I think its much confusing.

So, for SPP we need 80% of (first year fees + expanse + return ticket) as a loan amount.. and what abt the rest amount, we can have it in either way. is that what u mean right?
