Did you apply online or submit paper application. IRCC don’t keep anyone’s passport. So just wait when they will complete the process then they will let you know to submit your passport

BVL is biometric validity letter. Did they send you any letter to tell you how long your biometric is valid for

You would get an email or notification about a biometrics validity letter, also a correspondence letter.
