I just thought I'd see if anyone could help us out with advice.

My spouse has been up here on an extended VR for the last 19 months, and we just received PPR from Buffalo. He has one vehicle here in Canada , and another in Florida, along with his belongings which his father put in storage for him. We do not know what is in what box, etc.
We are planning on landing at our local POE in New Bruswick, and importing the vehicle he has up here. Then we are hoping he can work the next several months to save up and bring his stuff and his other car up (we are undecided if we are going to go down and get it, or have a company bring it all up).

1) Can we land and have a goods to follow just stating items, since we dont know what is in what box his dad put in storage?
2) Can we import his second car after he lands, when we have the items come up?
3) How long do we have to bring his stuff up, and his other car?

You need know the contents in the box because customs may conduct random inspection. Hope other members will answer your question about cars.

2. Yes, he can import the second car later, just be sure it is listed on goods to follow (vehicle make, model, year, VIN number). If you don't know the value, they have a book and can look it up.

3. I brought my goods to follow several months after I landed. I'm not sure if there is a time limit, but if there is a would TOTALLY GUESS they would give you about a year.

While I carefully labelled each and every box with a number and general contents that corresponded to my numbered list of goods (which was like 4 pages), the customs officer said it was too detailed and to summarize into categories (so I used clothes, household goods, kitchenware, etc) except for electronics, jewelry "of value" and other expensive or valuable items like antiques/collectibles or firearms. I brought both my detailed lists and my summarized B4 form when I imported my goods to follow and they never even looked at any of it. They just asked if I was bringing anything that was not on the list, was anything listed that still needed to be imported (there was, my car) and stamped my form.
