Hi nano,
Link is below

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/FSW-PILOT.html

Backlog applicants are getting mail from CIC to apply for PNP (wat i read at trakitt.com)

Opportunities Ontario FSW Pilot Program

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has asked provinces and territories for assistance in reducing the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) backlog of applications submitted before February 2008 through the FSW Backlog Reduction Pilot (FSW Pilot) initiative.

As per the parameters of this initiative, Ontario identified the following five (5) occupations in which applicants destined to the province will get an opportunity to apply for an Ontario nomination leading to permanent residency on an expedited basis. Ontario identified the following five occupations:

Computer Analysts and Consultants (NOC 2171)
Software Developers (NOC 2173)
Interactive Media Programmers and Developers (NOC 2174)
Financial and Investment Analysts (NOC 1112)
Mathematicians (NOC 2161)

CIC will be contacting applicants in these occupations in February 2012 to seek their interest in participating in this Pilot. Contacted applicants will be able to apply to Opportunities Ontario and will be assessed under FSW Pilot program criteria as Ontario provincial nominees. Applications are to be submitted to Opportunities Ontario by May 4, 2012. There is no provincial fee with the application and applicants who are not selected by Ontario will retain their place in the FSWP queue.

Does participation in the FSW Pilot guarantee a Permanent Residency (PR) status?
No. Opportunities Ontario can only nominate 600 applicants under this initiative. Opportunities Ontario reserves the right to process select applications among those received and return the remainder to the senders. Assessment by Opportunities Ontario does not guarantee nomination. Only applicants that are selected by the province and deemed to meet the eligibility criteria will be nominated.

Thanks Lakhvinder!!

I am not a backlog candidate(at least not the Pre Feb 2008). I wish they get their visa soon.

The reason to ask for a link to source was that no one spreads rumours.
There are some people who do that.

This seems legit though.

I know, we are fast track applicants (though working on our file is slow) :P

It seems Canada government is quite serious about clearing backlog this time. hope we MI-I applicants also will get visa by this year.

Seems like nothing is serious..I am in the given category waiting for long time now..applied in early 2005 and still waiting... is there any one who have recd letter from CIC reg this process

yes i got it last week ......... i applied in nov 2005 for ontario

I also got an invitation. But I have done my IELTS long back. I want to know whether it will be valid or not?
Since I have received the invitation in March 2012 only its not possible to clear IELTS and send the application before 4th may 2012.

So any one has any workaround or information as how can I apply with old IELTS score?? or it is fine if we apply without IELTS and give the same exam later.

Hi tarak,,

Can u please tell me in which year have u submitted the application.

and what's your educational and experinece background?

you can submit IELTS score later

Will backlog issue will affect this too.. any thoughts ?

gh

no, i do not think it will affect it. I believe the Govt knew what they were about to do, and the brought out the PNP for the FSW backlog

Thanks,

Seems lots of people are going to apply for this and there is only 600 intake, also they are given very less chance to qualify as they are looking for recent IELTS score and no dates are available till May 4th and that's mandetory.

Hi c82,

sorry for late reply...
I had appeared for IELTS in Nov 2004 just before applying to CIC in Dec 2004.
