Good neighborhood recommendation in Toronto

We are planning to buy our first property in Toronto. May we know which are great neighborhood with good school?


Also, which neighborhood we should avoid? Thank you!

Toronto is huge with many different neighbourhoods. Your question is pretty broad. Can you add any specifics that will make it easier to answer? For example if you're looking to be in the city of Toronto or you'd prefer the suburbs, house or condo, what sort of budget you're looking at, etc.

We have a 8 months old daughter. So we r looking for a neighborhod that is safe and hv good schools.

We r thinking to buy a pre-construction condo which is close to a subway. Our max budget is $400k.

You're definitely looking at a condo rather than a house. Given you have a daughter, you need at least a 2 bedroom. I'm going to let others recommend areas of Toronto since the neighbourhoods I'm familiar with won't have anything in that price range.

If you haven't already, I would start researching new build condo closing costs on the internet now so that you understand how buying a condo in Canada works. Note there's also a difference in closing costs between buying a new condo and buying an existing condo. (Closing costs are something you pay on top of the price of a property). A pre-construction condo that costs $400K will end up costing quite a bit more than that once closing costs are factored in - so this would be a good thing to educate yourself about up front.

My overall recommendation is that you absolutely not buy anything before you have arrived in Canada and have had an opportunity to see various neighbourhoods yourself / in person.
