Good Service Economical
Very difficult to satisfy all the parameters bro, lol. Having said that, Go with a reliable airlines, in case there are some issues with the service, you would be well looked after or alternative arrangements made.
Hi All,
The below information could be useful to members for ascertaining the Fares.
As
THE FIRST STEP please ensure that you check the CHEAPEST FARE and the CHEAPEST DATE in a given month.
Please use the following Website to do an assessment of Fares, before you hit the PAY Button!
http://matrix.itasoftware.com/
Tip - 1 :
Try booking for a Flight that departs between MONDAY (Afternoon) and THURSDAY (Afternoon). Weekday Fares are much cheaper than those on Weekends.
Tip - 2 :
NEVER Book on a Consolidation Flight Booking Site (eg. www.makemytrip.com). Use such Sites for finding out the Fares and then use the actual AIRLINE Site to make the Booking. This way, you will save the Commission which the Consolidation Flight Booking sites charge.
For example, compare the one way Fare (for say BOM - CALGARY) on www.makemytrip.com with that shown on a specific Airline Website (say Lufthansa). The same Sector on www.lufthansa.com will cost much lesser. Thus you save quite a good sum when you book on specific airline sites.
Tip - 3 :
Air Travel Time between Indian Cities and Canadian Destinations can be as long as 30 Hours. If your are NOT used to Long Hauls at a stretch, please ensure that you factor good breaks in the journey (say a 4-6 Hour Stopover at LHR or FRA). This will help you take care of your body (especially the Legs!). Also please ensure that you comply to the requirement of TRANSIT Visas (if any) at all those Ports where you change Flights (TRANSIT Visa is a
MUST for US Transit Ports, if your route is through the US).
Tip - 4 :
If you are strict about your diet habits (pure vegetarian, for instance), then ensure that your Airline Reservation takes care of such requirements (more often than not, Requirements for INDIAN FLAVOUR FOODS need to be SPECIFICALLY mentioned on TRANS-ATLANTIC Flights - Europe to North America Sector).
In addition, note that Food needs to be
PURCHASED on Domestic Flights within Canada even on medium range flights (say Montreal - Calgary - journey time about 4 Hours), whereas in India, Food is INCLUDED in all Full Service Airlines.
Finally, REMEMBER! You are NOT in a RACE to reach Canada. Neither do you have a strict deadline of a single day to reach your intended destination in Canada. So enjoy every moment of the Journey, right from start!
Hence, do all your due diligence before you actually purchase your tickets.
Good Luck to all those who are planning to purchase their Tickets!
Regards.
