had a quick question and maybe it was already answered by someone else so here goes ...

i am a Canadian Citizen working / living outside the country and will be coming back in august 2015 now my wife is expecting our second child in February 2016.

My question is how would we apply for the Proof of Canadian Citizenship for our second child would my wife have to apply from pakistan .. or can i apply from canada ?

though my wife is not yet a Canadian Citizen as her paper work is under process .. but i would like to know can she send the paper work for our second child .. and what documentation would i have to send to her ?

hope to get some help soon !

thanks all

To answer your question you can apply from there or from Canada

Also....if your wife were to have conceived the last couple weeks her baby would be born on December of this year not February. Just wanted to point that out.

Note that completing the full medical could be an issue if your wife is pregnant. Completing the medical is required for the PR application to proceed.

Agreed it makes no sense that your wife is already pregnant and due next February. That's impossible.

If you are instead planning to get pregnant, she should get the medical done now before this happens.

What country were you born in? If it's anything other than Canada, your child will not have Canadian citizenship and will need to be sponsored.

Hello which country your wife lives. If you are canadian citizen even if your child born outside canada he or she is already canadian citizen as one parent is citizen so you better go to canadian embassy in that country to check more and get citizenship for your child you should double check if its true

Don't stress too much. The citizensip certificate isn't too complicated a process. I had to do it for my daughter born in the US. You will need the child's birth certificate plus photos. I waited until my kid was 6 months to do it and it came in 2 months or so.

You want Proof of Citizenship-Citizenship Certificate.

This is not necessarily true. Citizenship can only be passed down 1 generation. So if the OP was born outside Canada to someone born in Canada, yes, they would be a citizen by birth. However, any child the OP has outside Canada is not a citizen at birth.

Is it really true? If you are a naturalized citizen, your kid won't get citizenship if born outside canada? But if you are a born citizen, your kid gets it? I didn't know this. All citizen are not the same?

I guess people are confused.

If you are a naturalized citizen, you can pass on citizenship to child born abroad....however, that child will not be able to pass his citizenship to his/her child.
