Going on trip before PR card arrives

Hi all:

I am getting some mixed information from previous threads on this subject so I decided to ask a question specific to myself.

I want to travel to my home country for a bit in the next three months. I just did my landing but don't have my PR card yet.
Is it possible to travel without a PR card? Can I apply for a Canadian visa based on my WP in the meantime?

I have to plan this trip with multiple people and as such it can only happen before my PR card arrives.

I am from a visa required country.

In order to come back to Canada without a PR card you'd have to apply for a PRTD once you are in you whichever country your are visiting or land in the States and cross the border in a private vehicle with your COPR and passport.

I can't use my visa then I am assuming?
Also, I have to be in 2 countries for 1 week each. This will be troublesome!

No. Your visa is single entry. It was cancelled after you landed.

I didn't get a single entry visa. I was already here on a work permit and did my landing through the new telephone landing system.
I was asking that now that I am a PR, can I re-enter the country using my existing Visa based on my Work Permit?

No, you cannot. You became a PR after your landing. Any previously held work permits or visas are now invalid.
