Hello guys,
I have recently contacted an immigration consultant and talk to them about my case which was being part time for 2 semesters in my studies, therefore if I submit a pgwp application there is a high chance that it will be refused. I’ve heard about the option of going back to college and finishing a program that is at least 8 months in duration and after that applying for a pgwp.
My question is after completing the 8 months program , will I be eligible for a pgwp of 8 months right ?
To be more clear, I have already completed a 2 year program
thanks for answering

Hey Youssef, did your PGWP get approved with part time semesters? If not, what did you end up doing?
I am in the same situation as you and really worried about my options...

Your options would be to either go back to school or leave, as you can only get a PGWP for the length of your study program. Yes there are cases of it being approved but its still a chance you would not want to take.

You can apply for both a study permit extension (for another 8month-1yr course) and PGWP at the same time. This way you'll be hedging yourself against the risk of PGWP refusal.

Hi guys,
I am going through the same situation. Immigration consultant recommended me to go back to student status with a new program (1 year program). I have provided a letter of explanation with the new application for study permit. I am wondering if there is a chance of refusal of such cases and if so, what alternatives are there such as visitor permit so I can work on the back up while my new study permit is under process.

Thank you
Really appreciate any recommendations.
