getting a temp work permit while waiting for outland PR application

I'm in Canada visiting my husband while my PR is in process. I'm in the final stages of getting my PPR. While I've been here I've been offered a job which I can't take until I get my PPR. We could really use the money right now. My husband was laid off last year in the USA and we had to move. I've been going back and forth from my parents in Florida to visit him in Canada for about a year now. My husband is in school full time trying to get into another career and I'm just sitting here waiting for my PPR. The lay off was already hard on us. It would help our financial situation so much if I could just work while I was waiting. Is there any way I could get a temp work visa when I am applying outland for my PR?

Only if the employer can obtain a positive Labour Market Opinion to hire a foreign worker from Service Canada.

Hi I'm in the same situation asking the same thing, I want an open work permit but seems that we have to wait until we get the permanent residence. I don't know a lot about immigration but if you have a degree or profession you could be elegible to apply by NAFTA which it is pretty easy you only need to get an offer for an employer and send it or at the entry port you can apply too, you only have to get you medical examination done, look information about that it could be usuful.
