Hi everyone

I want to know once you land in canada.
After how much time can you sposor your parents?
How much is the approximate time that it takes for the immigration of your parents?
Are the rules separate for diffirent application categories?e.g diif for fsw, or others??
Could anyone please answer my queries.

1. You can sponsor you parents once you meet the Low Income Cut Off figure from Canada sources in the year prior to the application. e.g. If the LICO is $38K and you make it in 7 months then you can submit the sponsorship.
2. Approval/Refusal of sponsorship is taking 29 months for parents at Mississauga, then there is the overseas processing time.
3. Yes the rules are different for each category of application.

Also, the time lines mentioned by you denote roughly the maximum time it takes, is my understanding correct on that?

And, parents can always come on a visitor visa..right?

They won't process an in-canada application for parents if that is what you mean.

thank you for your reply, PMM. Is there anything like inland application for parents? It is quite hard to leave an only parent in the country & go. It is hard both for the parent & the child (even being adults we are always kids of our parents), especially if your parent is old & the only one you have left in this world.

The only route is Humanitarian and Compassionate in Canada. Very slim chance of it being approved. CICs attitude is you were the one who decided to emigrate leaving your parents behind.

Read http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip05-eng.pdf From you previous posts it would appear that you have not emigrated to Canada as yet. If you are worrying about abandoning your parents at this point, you should probably re-think Canada.

I have a Mother who will be left just by herself once I live the country of my origin. I just was thinking of the possible way to have her reunited with me in future, as I will never abandon her in my thoughts & the only wish I have is that she could have a real chance to see at least some of the good life she deserves the most - that she was deprived of having spent all her life in the country that does not appreciate those kindest people as she is.
