GCMS shows 'Security Screening' and waiting... - let's gather here!

Hey there! Do you have any source for this information. My AOR is 23 Mar 18, BGC/ IP2 started around 08 wks ago and I do have military background (and been to Canada after the military service), my file is still with CIO. I assumed I was in SS, wonder what is the cause of the delay if there is no SS at CIO. GCMS notes awaited.

Hi bud, security check is normally the last step before getting the final decision. And I've never heard of anyone who has had their security check initiated at the CIO level. CIO normally runs the initial documentation check and R10, then files get distributed to the local Visa offices for secondary checks on eligibility and security.

Yeah i will wait until end of August then i will talk to my lawyer. Bcoz I can’t take it anymore seriously enough! Cic is just playing with our lives thats it. Im here working in same place from last more than 5 years!

My file got transferred after month a half to London (UK) Visa office, which is my local office. And they've been an absolute nightmare and lazy sods. So it's better to get the file transferred late and get the decision soon instead of waiting for over a year for the final decision.

people working here are extremely irresponsible!!! I have paid my fees in January and they replies to me in March said I haven't paid it! I replied right away and attached my receipt. Then only after a month, they confirmed that they received it!

And after another 2 months, they send me the same letter again! Saying I haven't paid my fees! What are they doing? Why they deserve any salary at the expense of the taxes I paid?!

This is a very poorly run department within the federal government. At least so far, there is no metric on how and if the clients are satisfied and the department is completely unresponsive to emails or calls. If you call their call center, they will verbatim give you the answer that you can read on the website yourself. Unfortunately, every year, the performance of the department is worsening. They should privatize this department for efficiency and that is the only way you can make this department accountable. Also, why have a call center on which 15 million dollars are spent and they read out the info on the website. It took 6 months for this department to post an application as received. What a terrible waste of taxpayer money. They think that having citizenship processing of under 12 months (for 80% of the applications) is an achievement while in the UK, its under 4 weeks, in the US, its 5 months and these countries deal with millions. Its a mystery to me on how such level of incompetence is rewarded every year by the Canadian govt. Give these jobs to all the unemployed young people instead.

I hoped to at least understand when my SS was actually started, but I can't even do that.

I guess the time your eligibility would have passed

What do you mean? It's not just this one activity that misses dates, all of the activities in this report have blanks instead of dates.

Around 45 days, as promised.

They will not provide the dates on either gcms or cbsa wrt security so the best indicator is once you eligibility is passed then your security part is started.

My Eligibility: Passed was present in my older GCMS Notes like 8 month ago, but I'm still waiting for this never-ending SS to be finished.

Yes Activity 1-4 is all about the SS status change:
Not started -> Submit -> Received by CBSA -> In Progress by CBSA

And the Activity 5 is just:
Sub-activity/Activity Type: Security
Status: In Progress
