If you did applied for OUTLAND, I would have told you that the next step is visa in the passport. Since your application is INLAND I cannot really guess what to tell you. It is still normal for me to see that an officer assigning a file to himself which means he still working on it.

I applied for spouse sponsorship in Feb 2016. File is with NDVO. If possible can you let me know at what stage previous marriage document and information is assessed.

The reason I am asking is lot of Feb 2016 ppl form NDVO received DM, and I want to know whether 2nd marriage related checks are already commenced or completed for me ?

Is it right time to order GCMS?

First of all let me thankyou Eagle333 for the pain and effort you are taking in clearing our doubts and I appreciate the way you have studied the subject and your knowledge about it..

Coming to my doubt, I see in my GCMS Notes that CPC Ottawa has transferred the file to NDVO on March 25th. Though the Activity List mentioned Eligibility : Met, Assessment Status says Eligibility : Not Started.

So do you say that our Local Visa Office will again do one more round of Eligibility check? I assumed that the file will be transferred to Local VO only if Eligibility was met and that Local VO is majorly responsible for Security(Background checks) and Visa Stamping.

Please provide your comments on the above and correct me is I am wrong in my understanding.

You have not red enough on this forum, there are two eligibilities that CIC deals with: The sponsor eligibility is the one that is MET not for PR yet. For the PR will need someone at your visa office to work on it that is why you see people crying a lot about time it takes to complete that.

Hold a little bit your visa's expectation for now because you have a long way to go and you will also grow in this PR process. I wish you all the best and I will always be here to help you in case you need my undivided attention.

but yesterday I received a reply of my Email, which I have sent to VO for current status of my application. The visa officer replied that "Background checks are going on on your application....". The background check is also part of ELIGIBILITY? or my ELIGIBILITY is PASSED now and security and Criminality has started. Reply will be appreciated. Thanks

Hello INAM,

It looks like your eligibility is till in progress meaning that you are not off the interview hoot yet. Check my new thread about the stages of an application you might find some good there. Yes BGC check is than by a different department which is not CIC. if you want your BGC to start when your eligibility will pass you will have to wait for a very long time to get your visa.

Review Required does not necessarily means you are doomed for an interview but your eligibility will be very very carefully examined by your lead officer. You might not even go to an interview but when it says Review required it is a bit different when you see NOT STARTED.

Re-Medical -- In my case they have asked me to do re-medical at earliest and I did re-medical couple of days before. My question is that do you think if this is a good sign that they have asked me for re-medical at earliest? Do you think they are now about to finalize the case otherwise they may give me 15 days, 30 days and 45 days time for re-medical? By the way they previously gave me 45 days for 1st medical assignment in Feb-2015. What do you think?

After reviewing your post I came to these conclusions:

1. Based on my experience on GCMS notes from many people, when a decision has not been rendered on whether Eligibility should PASS or Fail after interview you will not be able to see Eligibility assessment part on your GCMS. I have 5 GCMS of different people who had interview and CIC hid the eligibility assessment part as well as the NOTE section where an officer should write notes about how the interview was. You will only see these things when a decision has been made. What's happening with Tony000 right now is your file was put at the end of the interview review queue to be reviewed for a decision. This officer did not even put a bring forward date on your file to speed up the process that is why your bring forward date was not even updated at the time you requested your GCMS which is clear that no one is working on your file. That classify your file has a NON ROUTINE because they are not in rush to complete it.

2. I will preach this for the 4th time now, when we request our GCMS notes they usually come with 30 days delay which means everything we see on these notes are not fresh information but old for 30 days. A lot might have happened in your file after the day it was request and put back on its location. No one should panic and feel like it is over for them, maybe your eligibility assessment part was accessible the following day your file was put back on its location and you will never know until you request another set. Here is the way you can order your notes in your situation Tony000, you should request one set of GCMS on JUNE 1ST and another one JUNE 30TH to check what really happened in your file for the month of June.

3. Do not ever make sweeping statement like I see many people doing it, that if my background check is underway it means my eligibility is Passed. When we use the word government it sounds exactly one block but in that block are many departments which work independently from each other. The department (CSIS) that deals with your SECURITY and CRIMINALITY have their own ways, rules and regulations that CIC does not have. If CIC tells you that your BGC is underway that does not mean it is CIC who is working on it.

4. CSIS is responsible to process and decide on your SECURITY & CRIMINALITY, then sends the results to CIC
RMO is responsible to process and decide on your MEDICAL, then sends the results to CIC
CIC is responsible to process and decide on your ELIGIBILITY, then compiled other results from other offices. CIC work also as a compilation centre after all the results come to them then they make their file decision to issue the visa or deny it.

It will be unfair to say that all the applicants who applied in Fab 2016 got DM/PPR. You can see 30 people saying they got dm/ppr but your file is different and your officer who is working on your file has not the same speed like other officers do.

Yes second marriage cases go through a lot of scrutiny for many different reasons. Your timeline said you are a feb 2016 applicant how can eligibility be completed in less than 2 months. Your time is very important then I would have guessed if eligibility has commenced or ended.

it should read R.11 Based on IMM0008 , the meaning of that , your file has been forwarded to the principal applicant country of residence Visa Office or the Visa office in Charge of Immigration of the PA country of Residence .

Sponsor is most likely approved .

That's an internal reason Shantaveli, we will never known everything CIC is doing and why they take some weird decisions. Most people whom I deal with their GCMS received their BELA DECISION LETTERS about 4 weeks. To be honest it is a hard question you asked maybe someone has an answer for you.
