Hello Friends,

Description of the case:
I am planning to apply for FSW this year. My documents are ready and I have a few questions about the employment gap:

I finished my education in May 2004. I do not have proof of employment from June 2004 to Nov 2005 (I was unemployed). After that I have continuous employment in the NOC category I am selecting to apply.

My current employment is for over 6 years and just using that I can score maximum points. For this employer I have the employment letter stating my job title, hours worked per week, tenure with the company, roles and responsibilities. I have a salary certificate stating my salary details.

From my previous employer (where I started working from Dec 2005). I have employment confirmation letter stating my role, tenure, R&R and stating that I was a FTE. I do not have salary details on this one.

My Questions:
1. Should I be worried about the Gap in employment (from June 2004 to Dec 2005). I can say that I was unemployed.
2. Should I be worried coz I do not have salary details from my previous employer (employer from Dec 2005)

Thanks a lot in advance. If I am allowed to express, a quick response will be deeply appreciated.

I was in same situation after my post graduation i was unemployed almost two years so i wrote the same in forms and and about salary slips thats are not mandatory but if they ask you later on you have to provided of current employer but very less chances they ask for salary slips........but you must submitted Contract, current experience letter........any appreciation letter of increment letters that must serve all the purposes....

- No. But make sure you should mention the period in your forms and classify it as unemployed.

Salary details are required. If possible try and get the revised letter from the employer. I did from one of my employers back from 2004. Else if you are sure that the next 6 years get you the maximum points you can file the letter as is. In a worst case scenario you wont get the points from December 2005 - 2006 but that should not impact your application as you have got the maximum points thereafter.
