Hello

I have an affidavit letter from Indian embassy and also have an Indian driving licence, with a 5 years experience.
Do I need to write G1 test or directly eligible for G test?

I think it depends of the province.

1) I dont think affidavit letter work. Last I knew, you needed a personal particulars letter from the RTO. I personally didn't have to worry about it as I transferred from FL. Let us know if affidavit letter is accepted.
2) With 5 year experience you can take both the tests right away

For Ontario province,

Firstly, everyone has to take G1 license before they can secure a G2 or G license
Secondly, Indian embassy letters are not considered to give G/G2 license. It all depends on a letter from your RTO and that too on their letter head mentioning that, you are good driver and no accidents and no of years of experience.

PS :- You don't need any letter from RTO if want to go for G1 and immediately G2 Road test.

Best of luck!!!

Even if you have a letter from RTO, you will have to write G1. Only difference the letter makes is, you can take G2 or the G immediately after you pass the G1 (Whereas an individual without a letter/experience shall have to wait 1 year after their G1 to take the G2/G)

Do you have a format for the letter ? My parents are moving to Canada (TFW) and want to get G as soon as possible.
Our home RTO is a small one (RJ40) and they have agreed to give a letter (on RTO letterhead but need a format).
