A young female friend of mine was asked to fully strip (fully!) for her medical exam in Canada by a male doctor.
She did so assuming that this is normal procedure, eventhoguh she was very uncomfortable with the situation.
When me and my friends heard of this, we were quite shocked as none of us (male and female) were even asked to take off a single piece of clothing.
We also checked the instructions of medical exam here. It says, in bold letters that:
> The doctor or medical clinic staff won’t examine your genitals or rectal area. These parts of the body aren’t required for the immigration medical exam.
The doctor may need to examine your breasts. If they do, they will: provide you with an explanation of why and how the examination is being done
What has happened there? Was it normal procedure? Why was she asked to take all of her cloths?
I can't help but wonder if this doctor's practice is on the border line of sexual harassment of his female patients who are in a weak position (i.e. eagerly looking forward to their PR and don't wanna make things complicated).
Would apprecaite to know about your experiences and your take on the situation.
