Hello!

I'm new in this forum. My application was received by Dave in Sydney, Nova Scotia on July 2nd. I've read earlier that a joint account with parents are not OK as a proof of funds. Does any of you know somebody whose application was denied because of this issue?

The thing is, majority of the bank statements I submitted come from joint accounts with my mom. If CIC will not consider those funds from the joint accounts, then I will not meet the required amount. All of the funds in the joint accounts are actually mine. It's just that I want my mom to have easy access to the money in case I die.

As of now, I still haven't heard from CIC. What should I do at this point? Should I send CIC a notarized affidavit explaining that all of the funds in the joint accounts are mine and I just want to give my mom easy access? Or should I create a new bank account under my name only, transfer all of the funds there, and submit new bank statements to CIC?

But if I will do the latter, will it not be a problem by the time CIC verifies the documents I submitted because those bank accounts will be empty by then? Also, I think another issue with the latter is that CIC wants to see the cash flow and not just the ending balance of the bank account. Some people borrow a huge amount of money and put it in their accounts to pretend that it's theirs. Whereas if CIC can see funds going in and out of the account for a long period of time, then the funds look more genuinely owned by the bank account holder.

I would appreciate any helpful feedback on this issue. Thanks a lot!

Nakita ko to sa international FSWP forum:

"After receiving Medical results by Regional Medical, they enter into GCMS 4.0 system. After that Ottawa, Canada check the medical results. If they don't satisfy, they email to applicant for further test; if they satisfy and approve the results, they generate the following line of ECAS.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> In Process
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Medical Results Have Been Received

It means that your medical results are approved and seconded by Ottawa, Canada, and you are 90% approved at this stage and your Passport request is on the way."

Kaya pala nag-vavary talaga ang number of days from "Meds Sent" to "Meds Received" sa ECAS natin.

+1 for sharing... nice info.. 8)

I found out about 'CAIPS' and GCMS.

You can get the report from this website, www.visafile.info.

************

What Is 'CAIPS'?
CAIPS is short for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System'. It is the computer system used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada).

Why Is This Interesting?
If you are not applying for a Canadian visa, then caips notes are of no interest to you! If you have applied to emigrate to Canada with a PR visa - as a skilled worker, business applicant/investor or as a spouse or other family member of someone already in Canada - then, with our help, you can obtain a copy of your CAIPS report and find out what has happened to your application so far, and get an indication of what will happen next with your file, and when. For more detailed information on what is in CAIPSnotes, see our sample CAIPSfiles. The system also holds information on work permits, study permits and visitor visas, and we can also apply for these reports on your behalf.

Should I Get My File?
There are many situations where you may want to get your CAIPS file. If you have been asked to attend an interview, then you should definitely get your notes to find out why the interview was requested, so that you can be well prepared for the interview. Any reputable immigration consultant would request the client's notes in this circumstance.

Also, if you feel that your application is taking longer than usual, or you have not heard anything from the visa office for a surprisingly long time, then you should consider getting your CAIPS notes to check that your application is on track. We have often tracked unexplained delays down to missing letters or documents which have been highlighted as soon as the file is obtained. For example, CIC may have written to an applicant requesting additional references, educational transcripts or language tests.

Finally if you have any other worry about your application status or progress, or are just generally curious as to what has happened so far, then you can get your CAIPSnotes to put your mind at rest.

Hey Becky,

Your case is quite unique and I haven't heard of this until now.

Sharing accounts with Elderly Parents is not recommended for a myriad of reasons and I would not dwell too much about this. For one, a lot of parents are doing this (sharing account with younger child) to avoid inheritance tax (although Kim H. is always on the watch, she's been superactive since her appointment), therefore, this strategy by parents sometimes may come across suspicious in the eyes of the Tax Man.

At this point, I would recommend waiting for PER instead of sending additional documents. CIO may have started July applications completeness check by now or in the next several days or so, thus, sending supporting documents maybe a little late.

While waiting for your PER, I would suggest you transfer all your funds to an account with your name only. As long as you can prove to CIC if they ask where did all your money come from then you will be alright. If you will be ask to provide 6-months bank statement, then you may use your joint account(as I assume that you have good cash flows in this acct) and prepare your affidavit.

Hope this helps.

AFAIK, you could expect an interview if majority of your funds are joint accounts with parents. Prepare a good explanation and try to transfer your account to your name if you can. Wait for PER and keep in touch. Ill send you a PM. Are you Filipino too?

Thanks ppmoms & Groundzero for your suggestions.
I will consider all those options.

I can't really sleep and thinking about it again and again till I review my docs submitted. I realized that my mom name in my married certificate has a slight difference against my BC. 1 letter was missing, all the while thought is correct. This might be one reason why they want to verify my status before 2001.

What should I do now? Do I need to get an affidavit for that discrepancy? It's really complicated.

Please help.......

In addition to ppmoms suggestion. If you can ask ur previous employer to dig in the HR files. Perhaps may photocopy sa mga old ids mo. You can ask the employer to issue a certification na ikaw yun, and furthermore ask a lawyer to notarize it.

If that is the reason as to why you are being asked for additional ID, I suggest doing what we've opined. Then, it wouldn't hurt to do an affidavit regarding your mom's last name in your marriage certificate (although, it should not be a problem since you've produced your birth certificate naman). Go to your university or place of work and try as much as you can to get a copy of your IDs. Good luck.

Hi mga kapatid,

As I mentioned yesterday, nag apply ako sa NOC 1111 received by CIC on May 14th. Till now wala pang CC charge and di parin bumabalik yung application ko. As advised by isang kapatid natin dito... nag email ako kahapon and nag aantay nalang ako ng reply from CIC. Or CIC usually rejects application and it's up to the applicant to reapply to a more in line NOC based sa experience nila?

Make sure you pick the correct NOC that matches your JD.

When creating a JD, make sure it is around 70-80% match to the HRDCC website. I am trying to find @ Century's post regarding how to create the perfect JD but I can't seem to find it. Try posting your created JD sa international thread and ask for opinion from Century, ashif_eee, Oscar7, future_canadian, CANOI, and other seniors.
