Hi! What is the usual eca equivalency for doctorate degree earned in the Philippines?
Please share. Thanks
try sa website ng wes..ang alam ko meron silang page na checheck mo lang yung possible equivalent nung degree or phd mo without sending the docs yet...

Thank you so much for the prompt reply esp to KitsuneDream for her/his concern that my query will be answered. :)

Btw, got an email that my eca has just been completed and wes posted the following assessment:

1. 1st Degree - Canadian Equivalency (CE): Bachelor's Degree - 3 years; (University: Silliman University)
2. 2nd Degree - CE: Four years of professional study in law
3. MA - CE: Bachelor's Degree ( 4 years) in relation to first degree
4. Doctorate - CE: Master's Degree
Academics in the field, upon consideration of the dissertation, may in some instances consider this credential to be equivalent to an earned Doctorate (Ph.D)

Please enlighten on the number of points I can claim for my education.

Thank you.

23 points if I'm not mistaken but says there may in some instance consider this credential be equivalent to an earned PhD. So there's a chance you will get 25 points. :)

Nope. Once completed you can just view online the unofficial copy of the report. :)

Hi to all,

"Documents received - review in progress" ito yung status ngayon ng WES ko. Ibig ba sabihin nito kumpleto na na nila natanggap ang mga documents ko at wala na akong kulang? mga ilang days ako mag antay para sa result nang evaluation?

Thanks

KitsuneDream, is there a way that i can clarify what the statement in my eca report means? if there is really a chance that I can validly claim for 25 points? just want to know before filing my app coz should i get only 23 points, i will be short of 1 point to qualify for the fsw (67 points). At least as early as now I can find ways to have additional points... like letting my husband take ielts exam....:)

Please enlighten (further :))

Thanks.

Whew this is really hard. Experts help! Pero it is highly likely that you will receive 23 points because the ECA report says CE is master's degree.

The last statement I cannot fully understand so it's hard to explain. Maybe you can contact WES to explain what the last statement really means.

Just let your husband take the IELTS. Instant 5 points.

To be on the safe side, I agree with bosschips, just let your hubby take the IELTS exam. :)

I agree with KitsuneDream's interpretation, you'll only get 23 points. The way I interpret the last sentence, you need to submit your doctoral dissertation for consideration for the full 25 points.
I agree with everyone else, it's easier to have your husband take the IELTS.

mga kabayan.. me question lang sana ako regarding the document checklist (forms list).
pano pala yung mga forms na di naman applicable sakin i.e. additional dependants? do i have do to leave it unchecked (coz there's no option to cross it out)? or i-print ko na lang yung document checklist then i-crossout ko na lang manually?
thanks in advance! :)
