Hello,

Under the new FSWP, education points have been changed. I have got a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering(04 years at university). I am just confused where do i stand. The new points scale are,

- Points would be awarded based on the Canadian equivalent with the following distribution:
Doctoral level: 25 points
Master's level or professional degree: 23 points
Two or more post-secondary credentials, one of which is a three-year or longer post-secondary credential: 22 points
Three-year or longer post-secondary credential: 21 points
Two-year post-secondary credential: 19 points
One-year post-secondary credential: 15 points
Secondary school: 5 points

Is it Master's level or professional degree: 23 points or Three-year or longer post-secondary credential: 21 points.

Thanks in advance

Anyone? That would be very helpful..

I only know as much as you do. Since engineering is a professional degree, you will most likely get 23 points. But, we can't say for sure until the ECA list is released. If CIC wants engineering degree to be assessed by a a professional body of engineering, it will probably get 23 points. One the other hand, if it will need to be assessed by general assessing body, then it will probably be awarded 21 points.

Yeah logically it should be counted as a professional degree...But then again, you never know. The thing is this difference for me is like 68 or 66.
You are a prospective immigrant??

That's a tricky one then! I am a hopeful prospective applicant, can't say whether I can apply yet. (well, noone can say that right now :( )

Yeah no one can predict..Counting on the April announcements.
