ppr usually comes in one month after medical done.
you may get it in two weeks as well.
you can't send your passport directly to ndvo. It's illegal in India to send passport via courier or post.
you hsve to send it to ndvo through vfs.

Thanks Optimistic Candi !

Do the email contains the details how to send the passport ?

bro how we assess Indian account from Canada . means we hav to carry required money with us or in account ?????

First thing .. you should have POF ready on airport to show.

for initial expenses

1) You can take some 1000$ to 1500$ in cash
2) You can take travelers cheque
3) You can have multi-currency card (so you can withdraw from any ATM)

The travellers cheque which you took can be deposited once you open bank account... Bank account can be easily opened up and your travellers cheque will be processes in some 7-15 days.

I have this much information.. seniors can share their experience.

I am not quite sure.
because I am in Canada and here we can send it directly to the case processing centre.
no vfs kind of stuff here.
I think it must have something regarding it for candidates in Indian subcontinent.
usually their ppr mail contains all the minute details.

when I first went to Canada I carried 2200$ as cash in hand. Because it was readily available for use.
I also had an international debit card from hdfc but never used it.

You must be able to prove to the canada immigration officer at the port of entry (airport) that you have CAD$ 11000.
Having that money in an Indian bank will not satisfy the officer he may choose to deport you.

There are a number of ways to do this. One way is traditionally carry some CAD in hand and rest in travel cheques. Another way which is safest is by depositing the amount in a canadian bank account and get a statement. You can make the accounts from India through online. Few options are Nova Scotia bank, Royal bank of canada and CIBC. I personally recommend RBC.

I strongly disagree to this statement.
they can't deport you since you haven't entered the country first of all. for the worst case scenario they will not let you in the country.
it's not necessary to have account in a Canadian bank.
they only want to see funds that are transferable.
in most of the cases they don't ask for funds.

and one more thing.
landing in the airport doesn't mean that we landed in the country.
immigration section in every international airport in every country is considered as a suspended area. Which is not considered as a part of country even though it's in the country. It is solely for the sake of immigration.
One must complete the formalities of immigration and leave the immigration section to be considered as landed.
