MEP queue slowed down a bit again. Looks like IRCC lazies started holidays early. Like they haven't been getting paid to do absolutely nothing for two years.

MEP queue slowed down a bit again. Looks like IRCC lazies started holidays early. Like they haven't been getting paid to do absolutely nothing for two years.

Its two front problem. One is laziness another is an uptick in number of ReMeds. Each re-med requires resources again. All those folks who are waiting for more than 7-8 months outland will cause this issue -- Each expired CoPr, each pending application will yield a new re-med (out land need six months on their medicals before they can get PPR).

This problem is the longest pole in IRCC's plans. Given that how less people actually will fail a full re-med, Canada should remove full remeds and just do TB test using x-rays and use age based statistics to manage remaining risk.

All risks considered (except commie lover JT's possible lock downs), I should get MEP in 2-3 weeks. That'll mean about 1/3rd of my meds' validity period will have been completely wasted by IRCC's dumb ass by the time an agent has picked it up.

What a service we're getting from IRCC lads, I'm not used to this quality.

Pass. Australia is still has closed borders, at least Canada only needs you to pass COVID testing albeit quite strict. If you think Canada is leveraging COVID-19, Australia is definitely squeezing out everything it can from it.

Covid has been a great opportunity to spot pseudo first world countries. Aus and Can share so much shit; two equally shitty 3rd world countries in disguise. Aus is slightly shittier due to the weather (basically hell) and bugs and animals that want to kill you for no reason. Also they're slightly more racist than Canadians.

Plus Australia (and New Zealand) has completely stopped their FSW equivalent program draws, and their borders are still closed shut.

I have received the following updates in the last week or so:

14 December 2021: I was asked to upload Schedule A, Additional Family Info and height and eye color; (uploaded in a couple of days)

18 December 2021: Got 4 emails from IRCC saying that my documents have been received;

22 December 2021: Got another email saying that my documents have been received;

24 December 2021: Just logged into my account, saw "Profile Updated", clicked on it, and I saw that my medical results have changed to "You passed the medical exam". (My medicals had expired last month and the status had changed to 'You do not need a medical')

Actually no one knows about the future of FSW's as of now. I just hope they don't scrap the program altogether, as they have successfully achieved their targets through tr-pr/cec. That's the only worry I have, I'm willing to wait a bit longer however, now I'm worried if they will continue with the program or not. All the years of hardwork/ielts score everything went in vain. Lets hope for the best...

Apparently we can now call IRCC again, finally got an answer. Only to know that our background check has not started yet I don't understand the logic here, eligibility is conclusively passed so an officer took the case and obviously looked at it at least right? then wtf is holding them back to initiate security? Few months ago an agent I talked to told me that sometimes security is initiated but they cannot see it on our file. So the question is, what kind of sources do these IRCC call center agents have? I guess they do not have an access to a file like GCMS notes or anything. If only we could receive our GCMS notes, then we would know but oh well IRCC just sucks in every possible way...

I don't think they are gonna scrap it altogether without making preliminary announcements about it. For instance, they might warn people that FSW applications will be accepted until the end of the 2023 and then this program will be abandoned so people would not waste their time and other resources.

My guess is what I shared a few days ago. Until all CEC apps are finalized, outland apps (and perhaps draws) will be stuck. Inland is the new flagship and sadly outland apps will always get this treatment. Apps will deliberately be paused on security. You'd definitely land in the first half of 2022 though. I know this is still very annoying, people being discriminated and put to wait for so long, but hopefully it's at least some peace of mind.
