You know life is always full of surprises. When I first heard about express entry, I was like oh wow this is the best immigration option, let me gather all my documents as soon as possible! And now I feel like this is absolute trash...Not even saying a single word on what the fuck is going on...Seriously???
Exactly. Had I known then what I know I would have looked for other options.

Sorry this whole situ is getting you down. Your feelings are quite justified.

I just wanted to say: if you are now deciding to go the study route, you don't have to opt for a "stupid" degree despite years of experience. I am not sure what field you are in, but you can opt for a specialisation in your field that will not end up being redundant. I had same internal conflict when deciding to go with study. I've been a Developer for years and I know studying vanilla CS masters would not add anything to my knowledge per se, so I went with a specialization in Data Science/Machine Learning/Quantum Computing. These are entirely new areas for me and I believe it will add to my quiver, and an additional path to Canadian PR.

You can also look into scholarships and funded programs (mostly research based) that will pay for your education fully or partially, so you don't have to shell out that $100k.

Someone already pointed out about Quebec having cheaper fees. I am not sure if the fees are cheaper, but the cost of living is cheaper than most of Canada (housing is dirt cheap compared to other provinces). Also, from what I've seen over at the Student's forum, getting a SP for any of the QC universities is much easier. I am not sure why but it is. Mind you, I am not speaking about colleges, I mean the unis - McGill, Concordia, Montreal U, Laval U, Bishop's University, University of Sherbrooke. It's like they are processed by an entirely differently group of IRCC officers with a mandate to approve.
Could you please share the link to the program you chose?

I am wandering whether we can organise a lawsuit to IRCC with all the applicants here in this thread, maybe they will response quicker? We paid same money to apply and now they have not fullfil what they should do.

For those who have AOR and still plan on traveling to canada on student visas, for one reason or another, I've been told Fanshawe College accepts AOR as enough proof of residency to apply for resident tuition. It's a college and its mostly trades, but it's still better to pay 3k per term than 9k per term.

really?!!! It’s good to know. We’ve been thinking about applying for a student visa, once our application hasn’t been touched since October 2020.

It's currently just hearsay, because I haven't contacted them to make sure, but some people from my group did and were told its accepted. Been thinking of doing their heating and refrigeration course, since my degree is kinda useless there, but really don't want to take IELTS again.

someone in the conference mentioned they may be focusing outland on 2022, contrary to in land focus on 2021. let's give up on feb 2022. we are reaching the end of the tunnel, maybe there is a door at the end which is preventing light from getting in
Sometimes, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes, you are the light in the tunnel.

Nice. I’m gonna contact them and see if it’s true. I intend to do some IT program, beacon my degree is also useless.

Hi everyone, I have a query.
I am currently in the US with an AOR Nov 2020. My girlfriend is in Canada and a PR since May 2020, will apply for citizenship next year. We were planning to get married after I get my PR but given the current situation we might get married in Feb 2022 no matter what. So, if we do, is it possible for me to apply for spousal sponsorship once we are married? And if its possible, do you all think it might get processed faster than FSW?

Well, I'm also applying for Data Science masters programs, but the problem is that I'm not from a CompSci background, and Canada does not like non CS backgrounds for this. So I'm unlikely to get in. We'll see how things work out.

Waste of time. Because Canada owes us “Nothing”.
