No idea, just as I have no idea why CEC applicants with 2020 AOR got backlogged endlessly. Must be a mandate but dunno if it's issued inside + by IRCC or from Canadian govt.

Guess the logic works that way:
if class == CEC && AOR > 20201231 && CoR == Canada:
process_at_full_speed()
else:
put_in_backlog()
Unfortunately logic and common sense don’t exist with IRCC.

Ontario PNP invites master’s and PhD grads

Ontario invited international student graduates who filed an Expression of Interest to apply for a provincial nomination.

I thought inland applicants can vote after AOR that's why we are seeing CEC only draws for the election.
Trust me, if that was the case, IRCC funding would have increased massively for benefit of CEC and FSW both. Immigrant applicant's plight is that they have no representation.

Folks, my understanding from this situation is this : IRCC is implementing the immigration mandate of Canada government. That was to prioritize those who are in Canada. Currently, however, Afghan Refugees have been given some priority as well because ... welll... its Canada! SO... expect delays in FSW and in CEC perhaps too!

Bro what lol you can't vote until you're a citizen. I don't think there is a country in the whole world that allows non-citizens to vote???

I said it before - the Afghan refugee situation was so grave it paralyzed the entire IRCC unit. Imagine not being able to answer calls or even webforms!

I read somewhere IRCC has 5k employees. The "situation" made it look like there's 50 max in duty.

So...make your own imagination what's actually happening.

No, its like

if applicant->type == "Habibi":
approved_list->add(applicant) // Yalla Habibi!
else if applicant->type == "CEC":
process_list->add(applicant)
else:
write("/dev/null", applicant)

guys, I just got a letter of interest from Alberta
my profile has 474 points and I was waiting for FSW to resume. I'm still 24 years and my IELTS exam has only a few months, so age and retaking the test wouldn't be a problem..
however, alberta wasn't my first choice (I would rather go to ontario)

anyways.. without any news about the future of fsw , should I accept it?
ACCEPT IT!!

If IRCC is busy with backlogs and Afghan crisis, why invite more CEC? Certainly not going to help with their workload. Conversely, if they do have the bandwidth to process 2000 more CEC, same holds true for FSW as well. Sure, 2000 FSW would mean 490 cutoff, still better than nothing.

I understand the anxiety guys, but I think we'd be doing ourselves a lot of harm trying to predict IRCC. All we need is a bit of patience and optimism, and probably try to remove our minds from these worries.

There's a reasonable chance that there may not be an FSW draw again - God forbid, but even if it happens there's certainly nothing anyone can do about it.

On the other hand, there's also the possibility that things could return back to normal, and surprise surprise we have FSW draw tomorrow. So it makes no sense worrying over what we have absolutely no control over.
