This was a totally different situation and it happened way before EE came in

I know, was just telling that they did cancel the applications. Although, I am not speculating nor I know Canadian politics, so cant even comment. But either way, they have started working on applications and slowly but gradually we all will start receiving COPRs (and yes there will be FSW draws sooner than later!

Were processing of applications or Conducting of draws ever halted during elections in the history of EE? Just curious as I don’t understand the possible link between both. LegalFalcon has said that immigration activities wouldn’t be interrupted during elections

When I mentioned elections, my point was just that allowing the issuing of and/or landing of CoPRs again is a major decision, and that that isn't something that I would expect to be done during an election campaign. If it does happen, great. Otherwise it's just an extra 2 weeks to wait before we hopefully find out if anything's going to happen for FSW-Os.

Guys - just stop speculating left and right FFK - it was clearly said it that till border restrictions are in place, nothing will change. So sit on your asses and wait till Monday at least. All these things happened because of the reason. So wait pateintly and stop coming up with some new theories that are not supported by hard facts.

In as much as I want to like and love this, I believe it's coming in a bit late. Don't spoil their party. Allons-y!

Well, after September 20th then.

When I mentioned elections, my point was just that allowing the issuing of and/or landing of CoPRs again is a major decision, and that that isn't something that I would expect to be done during an election campaign. If it does happen, great. Otherwise it's just an extra 2 weeks to wait before we hopefully find out if anything's going to happen for FSW-Os.

Opening the border is a major decision. On what grounds will they stop the issuance of PPRs? In May they stopped COPRs for outlanders on the basis that they were traveling despite travel restrictions and they couldn't be sent back as they had valid travel documents.

I don't think they will specifically target FSW outlanders to stop them from entering Canada when everyone else is allowed to enter. It just doesn't make sense. They may delay processing for a few more months but don't think they will purposely stop the issuance of COPRs.

People have been put under this ominous situation for so long, they forgot how to look forward to something good.

There is a huge labor shortage in Canada especially in the Energy, Tech, and hospitality sector. While Canada can somehow find people to fill the hospitality industry, they gonna struggle filling up engineering jobs. They cannot fill those jobs with low-skilled CEC workers or mediocre diploma course holders posing as Students. Canada needs skilled workers. The more they wait on admitting FSW applicants, the messier things gonna get. I highly doubt if these are of worries for JT and co. They think they are scoring political points by admitting more refugees (ethically right) but it's not helping Canada in terms of economy. From personal experience, the employer that offered me a job told me they were trying to fill the position since Jan 2021. It's that tough.

For anyone in STEM and Finance (auditors especially), you can consider applying for jobs in the UK if the goal is to leave your country first. If you are able to get a job, they will sponsor your visa and you will be in the UK in no time. You can decide on whether or not you still want to go to Canada later - when they've gotten their shii together.

The same is the case with the US. These countries failed to promote STEM education while Asian countries are producing millions of STEM graduates for fun. There is often a narrative in the Western Countries, especially those who pose as nationalists that Asian STEM graduates aren't talented enough. I wonder how they measure talent.
