I hope not. I don't think IRCC has anything to do with the election and should continue to process applications like usual. If they use it as an excuse to further delay more applications then we should all stop expecting anything from them.
Exactly, they don't. They already have their targets for the year so they should continue to treat files.

Check your application very well before you submit to IRCC. Keep a checklist of things you are inserting in the application and ensure the documents meet program delivery standards. You won't have a problem if you are careful.
Thank you for the useful advice, @Timbuktu_14 ! :)

I will of course be very, very careful but my question was to understand my options in the worst case scenario. if i do withdraw my application, can i re-enter the pool using the same EE profile (it has my Ontario nomination)? Thanks!

If we stop counting, how do you track cases and stop the spread?

I think what he/she meant to say was that they shouldn't make a big deal out of the case count and lock everything down in order to stop the spread. Because the count will keep fluctuating. It's a never-ending cycle. As long as people are vaccinated and Covid hospitalizations are low, the increase in count shouldn't be a cause of concern.

Okay. I believe the Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Tam said they will have a localized lockdown in highly affected areas and their goal is not to bring back the big lockdown again.
But that’s what I mean. Vaccination won’t stop people from testing positive, but it will be mild. Once things restart, cases will go up and locking down will just cause pointless panic.

Has anyone of you ever ordered "entire file" from IRCC instead of just GCMS note? What's the difference?

Some provinces are criticizing Alberta for its revised response to Covid. For me, it’s only a matter of time before they copy Alberta’s approach.
I'm sure Alberta expected all resistance and bashing. If they accomplish what they set out to do, other provinces will follow. They're just too risk-averse hence the reactions.

I wouldn’t say eliminate testing and quarantine, but no reason to continue counting cases.
Alberta is not eliminating testing but they want to eliminate quarantine since the hospitalization rate keeps dropping for fully inoculated residents.

Yes, you can. But the withdrawn application will remain in the GCMS system so the new profile must not be materially different from the withdrawn one.

I strongly believe that there won't reasons to lockdown again if people continue to get their shots.

The entire file will come with the copies of all documents submitted while the standard GCMS comes with processing notes only. There's no point ordering the entire file since you have the documents saved somewhere on your computer anyway.

There were changes made recently and the new GCMS notes are only 5-6 pages long with no agent or VO notes. If you want to see these notes, you have to specifically request for it.
