For a long time, my application was put on hold after all stages passed except security. Only until recently, I started to see some movement. Last month I received a request for re-medical as well as several ADRs. It wasn't just me but a lot of applicants got the same update from the London VO. I received my GCMS notes last week which seem to indicate my security is also completed.
This is a lot of positive movement after a year-long hiatus and this is why I'm not overly critical of IRCC right now. It's only been a couple of weeks since I submitted my documents, if my app gets stuck again for the next 6 months, I will hop on your boat to crucify IRCC and Mendicino lol.
And when did you get the remedial and adr

Most of the backlogs are all passed except security so yeah, IRCC doesn't actually have too much workload from the backlogs. But for some reason IRCC hasn't been starting security in FSW applications, which is to freeze those applications. The public should somehow put pressure on the officials as there's no explanation for FSW people being put on hold under the current circumstances where even tourists are now given pass. People need clear plans and explanations.
Plus we mustn't forget that ircc issued Coprs from Oct 2020 to Jan 2021 so that means some of the backlog was probably cleared back then

I really think the so-called backlog is a work of 2 months. That kind of backlog would usually happen before the pandemic too so people need not worry about backlogs. Processing will be very fast but the question is when will it start?
True its prob not going to take very long once they start which I think they have behind the scenes hence all the ghost updates and remedial requests and adrs

I still feel they may resume fsw rounds in a few weeks...but it will ultimately die a slow death.
I hope they don't kill the program. It's what keeps the draws high scoring and competitive. So looked at from that perspective it's in Canada's interest to keep the program to invite the best candidates

Can someone travel to Canada on a valid visitors visa while they are awaiting PR approval?

@legalfalcon
Depends where you are from, if you have immediate or extended family in Canada, if you have been fully vaccinated.

Short answer (and without having any further details) is that if you are fully vaccinated, you will be able to travel as a visitor to Canada on or after September 7th. Note that you'll only be able to travel as a visitor - not move to Canada. So this means having a return flight ticket and being able to bring all of your belongings with you.

I'm as shocked as you. The previous thread was so informative and fun. Apparently got flooded with shit posting and toxic members who killed it.
It seems everyone is frustrated with how things are going and now fighting among themselves :( While actually, we are all on the same team (The infamous FSWs!)

The main reason is due to lack of transparency from the Canadian govt. If they don't want to bring FSW at all, at least just tell us so! So we can move on with our lives without carrying false expectations.
