Hi all, I am not going to be either pessimistic or optimistic, but only realistic. FSW is not going to open this year. My main concern is the lack of transparency from the Canadian govt and why the politicians are keeping mum on this topic.
To simply put, we are all a part of the economic immigration program and FSW is not good for (Canadian) economy. A lot of migrants move without any significant investment in Canada and end up remitting money back to their families. The local population also has to compete with these harder working foreign-born Canadians.
What is good for the economy are international students, for obvious reasons, hence why CEC is specifically tailored to suit their needs.
Then why FSW was running at all, you may ask? The only reason was pressure from foreign-born Canadians who are somewhat a part of the govt/ministers and also local businesses which needed foreign workers.
But now, the pandemic has given the govt a justifiable excuse to show their true colors. FSW will be avoided for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE and to the maximum extent.
I will make another post for anyone who's losing points due to age, on how they can still make the move without a heavy investment towards their education.
