I just was learning all these on housing in outside websites and I 'm happy I'm getting educated on bad stuff about builders in this forums.

Luckily I have a PNP application in progress.

But I was wondering what would happen if I were dumb enough to chase only express entry. There's quite a number of coworkers in my org who're already booking ticket home for good this holiday, most are bachelor graduate so losing a lot of scores due to lack of 1 year of foreign experience. They don't even want to bother with visitor visa unlike many desperate lamdas.

After they have 1 year of foreign experience (on top of 2 years of Canadian experience), I think they should be able to through the express entry with scores in the 520 region (without masters) and 540 if they decide to do one. It'd be interesting to see how many ex-PGWP holder getting PR in the next few years.

If it were me, I would simply work for a year abroad and get masters in other country (or back home). If you do it in other country, you have the opportunity to explore other immigration pathway. Scores should be competitive enough to put me in direct competition with the francophone cohort. Although at that point, one would wonder why bother with Canada at all.

Australia, as usual, is making pretty sensible changes. Trudeau and Miller are not capable of thinking of half of such changes.

These changes are not applicable to Indians due to an agreement between India and Australia. Guess what’s going to happen? The diploma mills will close down in Canada and all the fraudsters will move to Australia. It’s already happening. My prediction for the following year based on Miller’s statements. PGWP overhaul and permits only offered to programs in Healthcare , STEM and construction, in line with the categories. If Ontario and BC don’t regulate the diploma mills by Sep, Miller will place a visa ban and then you’re going to see all those private colleges go bust.

LOL, clown show. They prétend to make changes and then make another deal to repeal all the changes. I thought only Canadian Liberals do such shenanigans.

It is a cycle. First they'll bring in int'l students in mass and then start crying "abuse" as if they didn't knew how it happened. UK does it, AU does it, Canada joined the league this year, US will do the same in a couple years too.

Miller wants to give PR to all illegals. No comments I guess

That’s such a stupid plan. Liberals are out anyways. Canada is at the crossroads of turning very quickly into an anti immigration country precisely because of how badly the Liberals destroyed a very sane and straightforward immigration system. At the expense of what? To appease Walmarts, McDonalds, Tim Hortons and Amazon. Those businesses are going to automate most of these jobs anyways. Miller knows that what’s happening in the most pro immigrant countries in Western Europe could easily happen in Canada. He doesn’t have much time to turn things around. We’re at the precipice of something very bad happening to Canada in the next few years.

AU was always known for fraud in their Education system. Unlike Canada, Australian public universities are not mandated to place a quota for international student enrolments. The UK was also known for puppy mills but they got shut down pretty quickly for a couple of years until recently. Canada had never experienced this problem to such an extent until the Liberals got elected and then decided to relax the rules around student visas and post graduate work permits. The biggest blame, though, goes to the Ontario government for introducing something known as public private partnerships, an arrangement in which private colleges are allowed to use the branding of public colleges to enrol international students. The branding allows them to offer PGWPs. These private colleges are the biggest actors in trafficking international students and they have the blessings of some of the public institutions in the country. My prediction is that the whole industry is going to blow up next year. The Indian slumlords in Brampton will be in tears when they realise that they can no longer exploit their own kind.

City of Brampton introduces Residential Rental Licensing Pilot Program

BRAMPTON, ON (December 8, 2023) – The City of Brampton is launching its new Residential Rental Licensing pilot program (RRL) set to begin on January 1, 2024, following Council's endorsement of the Residential Rental By-Law on December 6, 2023.

Applicable to Wards 1,3,4,5 and 7, the pilot will require the owner and/or landlord of every rental property with up to four residential units to obtain a licence. Licensing costs are $300 annually with fees waived during the first three months of the pilot and discounted by 50 per cent between April 1, 2024, and June 30, 2024. Registered second units, unregistered residential rental units and additional residential units (ARUs) will be included in this program.

The pilot program's goals include helping to maintain the character of local neighbourhoods, uphold property standard by-laws and keep individuals and families safe with enforcement of the Ontario Fire Code.

Units within the applicable wards will be subject to random inspections and penalties for non-compliance will be announced in January 2024.

@navinball so this is what you’re talking about. Sorry for eating into your profits. I have been sending City of Brampton one email every day
