Or may be the world is really a shitty place :)

PS: I am half joking.
You're not off. Western Europe is stagnating, many problems here exist there too. Germany is struggling and they're increasing taxes. UK is a shithole, I know this personally cos I went there a few months ago. Everyone's on strike, wages suck and cost of living is crazy. These days, hordes of Indians are going to Germany and Ireland as well so all the problems that exist here are going to start there. I'm seeing temporary visa holders moving in from Ukraine, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey every week here in Toronto.

So if you start checking off a list, Canada actually comes out to a decent place to live. The only exceptions I'd say are US and Switzerland but both are hard to get into.

In a world when US is a positive exception is a dystopian one. I mean why will anyone live in a place where you are one psycho away from been shot dead and a presidential candidate who wants to allow convicts to own guns.

Only thing good about USA is to make money. From a safe distance.

my issues with Canada is beyond housing ,the damn -30C is the problem last winter I lost it ,dressed in 4 layers and my collogues are making fun of me as the winter is round the corner. The winter is very depressing in Calgary and lack of opportunities unless you move to Toronto ,but as you know Toronto is extremely expensive unless you have a 100k job ,doesn't make sense to be there and Canadians are cold as F. Everything(I mean even baisic stuff like food, housing, internet is extremely expensive because of monopolies like Loblaws, safeway,Telus,Rogers ....etc .I dont care what indexes says but the systems are really corrupt otherwise there wont be this many monopolies in all the key sectors.
US the positive is good weather in many parts of the country is well and people are friendly and opportunities are infinite.
I looked at Australia it is even worse than this only thing good is the weather and I heard (not sure) people are bit more friendly (but I have heard a lot of racist incidents -so not sure, I am confused ),housing is even worse than canada.UK is garbage even if someone gives me a British passport for free no thank you, It was good but not now .NZ is also very expensive and I heard they also have issues with NZ experience like Canadian experience, Ireland also have horrible housing issues. India is okay in terms of opportunities if you are good at what you are doing but work culture HMM,Infrastructure is improving but it is a pain and india is also expensive the salary for a decent job is 2k CAD per month in bangalore but to buy a home 250K CAD when you factor other things except for carrier growth Canada is not bad the only issue is as I mentioned several time degree mills .Canada is not bad provided you are not comparing to US .
Problem with Germany is not what someone mentioned here because I have some friends there ,the issue is you have to be fluent in German and most Indians reluctant to learn new language and the brightest ones go there in the field of mechanical engineering ,guess what extreme competition. According to me if you know French and if you cant get into US and you can deal with some tantrums thrown by Quebecers ,Montreal is the best hands down again after US.

You don’t really need 100k to live in Toronto. Just need to budget yourself and look around I guess. I make 72k, cook my meals during the week, but go out during weekend. Financed a car with insurance and still save a bit. The worst is rent but I pay 2k for a 1B all inclusive with parking in a decent location. Could save more if I didn’t go out as much on weekends, but don’t want to go insane. My plan is to stay here till end of next year. If I don’t get US GC by then I’ll probably move somewhere outside of Toronto though. The amenities are nice but I’ll never afford a house here. Problem is my gf loves this city.

Okay this is new.... True-dough is stuck in India... because his plane is not working. Almost poetical. Just for the heck of it, Indian ministry of exteral affairs should ask him to confirm that "He will leave India after his visa expires"....

The comment section is a real treat to read. LOL!

It’s amazing what the immigration policies concerning international students have turned Canada into.
You must've missed a few pages. We've literally been shitting on 'Mr Patel'(youtube) and his free food friends. Ironically, people like him have brought a huge spotlight on the issue. Before it was almost forbidden to talk about immigration or fake students in relation to housing, now it's out in the mainstream. Even outlets like CTV which are very pro left are calling this out (see interview with Fraser)
So this forum is pretty much always a few months ahead of the mainstream press on immigration lol

It depends what you look for. I live in a purpose built rental in Scarborough, right next to the subway station, so I get to Bloor-Yonge in 20 minutes, and it’s almost 800 sqft. If you want to live in condos, then it will be expensive. My coworker lives in a condo in Scarborough near our workplace and pays 2300$ for a 500 sqft 1b without hidro included. My gf lives in a condo next to sherborne station, which is basically where the downtown of Bloor-Yonge starts. She pays 2300$ for a 400 sqft studio, without hydro, water or parking. So you need to avoid condos, they are overpriced.

Won't name the person, but some of us here met their(food bank hack influencer student's) parents. They were equally ignorant.

We've have a vantage point that most others don't tbh. Most of us here can also see the number of overstays we will witness in the coming few years too, while Canadian govt will say "We had no idea that this was going to happen".

Put it simply we are both the subject and investigator of this great canadian immigration experiment. We are the very avant-garde of this mess. It happens in front of us even before it is news.
