don't they realize the US is the most similar country to Canada and viceversa?
If you believe that then you haven't seen all three of US, Canada, and Europe for long enough and interacted with their native residents in non-tourist circumstances. Both culturally and systemically, Canada is more similar to Europe (think England, Germany and France) than the US. This doesn't say Canadians are cultured like Europeans, they're not, but their way of life on average looks more like EU than US. Canadian cities that are in close economic partnerships with neighboring US cities have it differently though, Canadians there tend to act more American than European.

See we not only have starving people who like to give advice on where to get a really good sandwich, but also people who haven't the first clue what a sandwich is...

Most people who complain about Canada will never be happy anywhere else, that's just a fact.
It is not even a Canada thing. Most people who just complain and never do anything to change the circumstances will never be happy anywhere. One could be in a paradise but if your basic nature is to constantly whine and complain they won't be happy there either.
Some people think moving to a new country will solve their unhappiness issue that they had in their life but if the reasons of unhappiness are within them moving to a new country won't help.
Everyone here is in a privileged position that they are educated, have some level of financial security and in most cases a job and career. Most people have enough resources at their disposal to shape their life and move in a different direction if they don't like it here.
Now some people can't do it because their passports don't allow them that freedom. Sure whine for 3/4 years til you get Canada passport. But if that is not a limitation and if you still choose to just complain and be holier than thou then probably there is no solution.

I think the people who move to America already know this. The problem people have is Canada has all the problems of America, but none of the advantages of living in America.
Is that so? Does Canada have 50% of their population believing in populist politicians and conspiracy theorists, mass shootings every week, entire tent cities, etc?

People forget the value of clean air, clean roads, good education system, and take these things for granted and only focus on the negatives. Not leaving Canada, incessantly hating on it, and discouraging others who want to immigrate there is just beyond my comprehension.
You don't get it.

A decent number of folks come from places with all of this. Not every country in this world has polluted water, air, broken education system and what not. Not everyone is seeking a markedly better life. Its an assumption. Many people just want to live elsewhere without having to renew immigration documents every now and then. Its very much a thing. Lot of young folks move out of their countries for no really good practical reason.

In economics there is a concept of marginal utility, which means additional value you get by consuming one more unit of a good or service. Marginal utility of clean air, clean roads, good education system is low for such folks because they always had that! Does not mean the utility of is low just that having more of it wont bring additional value to them.

Again, I lived in the US, three different states, I know what I've seen. I'm not a 20-something kid who still doesn't know what he wants in life.

That said, if you want to leave Canada so bad don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Most of the white-collar immigrants in Canada would be way off in America. Abundance, warm weather, cheaper housing is what people are looking for when they move South. That's exactly what most Canadians want as well when they move a 100 km south of the border.
Correct. A proof is the current emigration to the USA from Canada. Who leaves? CANADIAN CITIZENS.

I don't know about percentage but there are a lot of people believe in populist politicians; example, Ford and JT. The whole idea of politics is to be populists; that's how they get elected.

Conspiracy theories: also yes. Take a look at truck protest in Ottawa against COVID vaccination.

The USA is more affordable and just in general, more fun than Canada. Source: lived in Houston, TX for 2 years as an exchange student (Rice University and internship at ExxonMobil).

People who complain are admitting that they are unhappy. They may or may nor fix the situation but they are on the first step.

Yeah and mostly if you are a tech worker or in medical profession Canadians also move to US for better pay. But I learned something few months back. People from US who are in teaching profession like school teachers immigrate to Canada. Apparently the teachers pay is much better in Canada than USA.

Yeah but the only thing is admitting and complaining about is much easier than actually doing something about it. But if one is not stuck at the first step as an infinite loop then yes there is a chance to make a difference.

I see your point but this hasn't much to do with the majority of a country's population being bland, boring and quite uncultured. The american culture isn't much older but they aren't boring like Canadians. In fact, they've been exporting culture (American Dream) to the entire world for ~100 years now.
Not all American cities are entertaining. If you want be with young population, you need to be in Denver or Boston. Arrogant people live in NYC and Boston too. Techies of course go to SFO or Seattle. Chicago is has a mix of everything. Texas is the best for newcomers especially Austin and Dallas Forthworth metroplex. Stay away from Houston. Miami is prone to natural disasters. Rest all cities are equally boring as Canadian cities.

That's such a limited take on things. I complain about unaffordable housing, mass attacks in TTC, unavailable healthcare. What exactly do you want me to do? I complained for 3 YEARS !!!! about lack of GO train from KW to Toronto on weekends. Anything changed? Nope. They told me to collect several thousand petitions from KW residents and then, they might review it in the new fiscal year.
