IRCC is known to deny study permit if you have an active EE profile. You don't have to withdraw it but the chances of refusal go up.
thats not true at all. it doesnt matter whether or not you have an EE profile, because in principle, study permit approvals are conducted solely based on the merit of the study permit application.

Regarding study permits, I always got the vibe they refuse based on trends, you see a lot of people that are genuine about returning being refused just because they're from this or that country, I believe there was a link shared a while back. But if I were to venture a guess, with the economy slowing, their acceptance rates will go up globally. IRCC is hell bent on throwing curve balls, so take this prediction with a huge grain of salt. Wish we could get data on acceptance rates in 2008/09.

If they add 500 more for the next draw, do you think the next cutoff will be 500?

There are 7000 people in 501+
They would have to draw 7000 people for the cutoff to be 500 without counting PNP, so, no. With luck it will be 510 since there are more people in lower scores. I bet most of them are between 501-510.

Hi! I received a nomination in May 2022 and an invitation to apply for PR in June. So I submitted all the required documents. However, since I live in USA I got the police certificate from the county because I didn't know that I need to get it from the FBI, the website wasn't working back when I applied. So they sent me a rejection letter. Is there a way to appeal? Also, I am willing to submit a new application but will OINP accept to link my nomination to my new application after I got rejected?

Damn sorry man, this was a costly mistake.

I didn't need US pcc and I still knew you're supposed to get from the FBI. Not sure IRCC will entertain a reconsideration but you can try.
Also, were you rejected or was your application returned as incomplete? If you were rejected, then OINP will not transfer your nomination to another profile for you. You can try your luck with them though., seeing as you are still in the 6-month validity window.

Congratulations, did you anticipated an ITA at all this round? TBH, I was expecting a 520-521 round.

Thank you. I was expecting to be 518-520 but i got lucky this time around.
