Hi!
I have received my PR(Outland) and I am planning to go for my first entry to Canada. I am from Pakistan and will be traveling to Canada via US land border.
Is it possible? Or first entry must be done through airport?
Please guide if anyone has information in this regard.

Please if anyone can guide me.

Hi everyone,

thanks for helping me through out the immigration process

I am a mechanical engineer with 10+years experience in automobile industry in india.

As i am moving to canada in coming months, thinking of doing some skill based course in india those can help me to get job there.

Please suggest what kind of job/skills are in demand specifically for mechanical engineers in canada for new immigrants.

Thanks in advance

Adding an English translation is optional where I live.

Usually the first paragraph is in local language and the second in English. The job of the notary is to ensure that the translated copy of the document is done by an approved state translator in this case.
What if we're using a Canadian registered translator? Should we notarize the copy as well?

I heard it is very difficult to find a job for mechanical engineers but it is not impossible if you're putting some effort.

If I am you and have some money to spare I will spend on a Canadian credential which will give you a slight advantage.
Not to mention you have to be really patient and persistent.
If you are very good you can try for P eng also

Auto industry (and mech in general besides HVAC and the project eng stuff in oil & gas and energy) doesn't really exist in Canada so it'll be tough finding a job in your field. You can try to find something in ON or QC but that's it. I see the occasional truck or tractor design job outside ON/QC but that's like one new job per 3-4 months so you'd be extremely lucky to get that. Besides, you aren't even considered an engineer in Canada until you get your appropriate designation from one of the legal regulatory bodies. The minimum it takes to get the entry level designation is 4 months and since your degree is probably not accredited in Canada, it'll take much longer for you.

If you have any transferrable skills I highly recommend you look outside mech eng in Canada. Canada has no industry outside of oil & gas so mech eng is a bad career in Canada.

in my country all translators in business are state approved, i mean you can't practice this job nor get your stamps if you are not approved by the court, does this mean i dont need to get the documents noterized by a public notary ?

In every country, all translators are state approved, thats how it works.

Adding the notary in this case if just optional for everyone involved, but in my opinion, since it costs peanuts, doest hurt to be included. You can go ahead and just translate the documents and attach them to the original ones.

Personally, I like to use the notary because when a document is noterized, it is put into the state's system in PDF and stays there.

Ok when I opened the thread it was 2378 pages and now I'm posting this on page 2370.. Seems like massive cleaning exercise going on. Never seen so many comments deleted before that 8 forum pages (may be more) were reduced.
Its been happening for sometime.

Curry smelling: I smelled curry for weeks coz I would cook food and wear the same dress to my classes. Smelled like shit until my Uncle told me about the mistake we all India do. From that day, I would keep my clothes away from my kitchen.
Can someone describe what exactly is curry smell? What exactly does it smell like?

It may come as a shock to someone Non-Indian but we don't call our food "curry". If such a smell exists and my nose has already blocked it, how can I know about it?

Wasn't happening about a month back. There were some very nasty comments which were never deleted. Given that number of pages count is now 2342 from 2378, I think a massive cleanup happened just yesterday.

The challenge is always consistency though. I have seen some comments just not removed and some replies to those comments are removed immediately. Let's hope the forums are kept clean from now on.

I don't get this. Have these guys even passed through a Chinese fast food place or a restaurant? And they want to say it doesn't have smell. And it is true for any cuisine .. if you are not used to that cuisine that smell will stand out.

But it is not easy to target China coz well they pretty much own Canada.

But there is a small difference, first of all I am not saying it as a racist comment but this is the issue
In india we cook in open rooms (I meant ,open doors and window) but when the room is air-conditioned the same air will be inside the room longer which means stronger smell.
I just go out of my home when my mom cooks fish the smell of turmeric kills me ,I can eat it but the odor is too much for me.

After being in the west I stopped it long ago not because of the odor but it is too unhealthy eating carbs 3 times a day screw you.
I like ham but hate the smell ,for me sushi bar smell is the worst all the sauces along with curry.
@RSub I slightly disagree with you there ,you can name your kid whatever you want, as a dad as long s you raise your kid as a good human you are good but man is a social animal, by naming your kid some odd names you are increasing the chances of your kid to be bullied (many not be of a huge margin but considerably),studies where conducted in the US about this and it was found you name can have an impact in employment. So in theory you are putting your kid in disadvantage

Look at uber drivers in the US ,usually Muslims put it as Sam I have seen that a lot,my friend I know for a fact he didn't get calls because his last name was Mohammad, in that aspect canada is way better
