I don't know the open work permit requirements yet, but I assume it's even harder to get than LMIA for an average Joe from not-1st-world country or we'd all already be working in Canada on this permit patiently waiting for our PPRs instead of having tons of anxiety and pouring all of it in this thread

according to the below link, you can apply for an open work permit if you've applied for permanent residence in Canada:

Then, why would people be crying and whining about PR processing delays? Don't you think people would apply for an open work permit and just move to Canada? Please read it again. Outland applicants don't qualify for this. Use this link to know more:

As someone earning 6 digit salary (USD), having approx 60k USD liquid funds, what alternate options are best after PR in Canada?
I'm considering going to the USA as a student and exploring GC options there. I'm a non-Indian/Chinese so it might not be so complicated for me.

I know I know. I'm not going to pursue my alternate plans right away lol. Just want to have a solid plan as an alternate to Canadian immigration. It's just to keep me from obsessing with Canada all the time.

You probably will get your PPR before me though as IRCC looks to be prioritizing PNP apps over FSWs.

Thanks to Facebook and Whatsapp outage; we cant see any progress today. I am sure few would have received PPRs today as well. Hope we wake up tomorrow to a lot more PPRs

The outage was caused by the PPR flood that FB servers were unable to contain. The flood is reported to have caused great damage to the egos of CEC applicants.
