This thing will end soon. I have stopped watching any bs on YT regarding this topic there is no point. Till some time I was enjoying but as of now I am really tired listening of all people giving their theories, predictions etc. It is what it is. If we will just focus on what we are doing now, time will pass a lot quicker than we think without additional stress.

Heard in a WhatsApp group that Canada is going to introduce a NOC requirement based system like PNP but for all of Canada FSW. (This was the system until 2015)

Any idea if it’s true?

they released some updates on these changes in november 2020 and also released the correspondence tables for the new NOC system on march this year

Seriously, if there are no guarantees with immigration applications, why bother even having a system that qualifies people based on points. Just do a lottery every week and pick as many people as you want. At least people will not have high expectations of moving to Canada

As to the first point, the 'greatness' of a university depends on your course of study, surely you'd know that. I myself have a stem background and I'd take a McGill or Guelph over UBC, UofT and most universities in Europe (outside of about 5 universities in Germany and the Netherlands and the top tier UK ones).

The fee argument I can understand, but then again the average fee to study in Canada is less than the UK and Australia, even for similarly ranked schools. If saving on tuition and board is the concern, they are better served pursing opportunities in Europe, but might need to learn a new language, less welcoming society, etc. I think people take the tradeoff and settle for Canada regardless as long as they can afford it.

The last one is interesting, like it or not, most students from the developing world make the international education journey with the long-term view of migrating. Outside of a very small percentage that do it because of a genuine reason to advance academically and return back home immediately, staying back features heavily on the minds of students allover the world. These countries know it too, hence the often 'enticing offer' is staying back after school to find work. Nothing about gaming the system there.

When I decided on grad school, asides from the possibility of funding and working on something that I was passionate about, the path to PR was a very important consideration knowing where I was coming from.

A UBC graduate here , are u kidding me . UBC over Guelph. Guelph is not in top 500. While UBC always under 50. Also one can always do diploma which are cheaper (I did mine from UfT and it was 15K ) and it's engineering school are the best in Canada . Consistently number 2/3. (Waterloo being the highest )

Mark can talk all he wants but the fact that CEC just invited 2k people can still mean something... why bother inviting people 1 month later and just 2k? I do believe they are worried about inviting more low skilled workers as well as those backlogs.

All these recent happenings prove that Mark knows nothing. He was even surprised by the CEC draw. His client wasn’t invited because his score was 460 lol
