They told me 4 months but folks are getting in 3 weeks also ,It depends on luckFolks, how soon you got your PR card?
I hope you get your ITA before IRCC starts their NOC specific crap.I'm glad people in this thread are getting their PPRs. And for once they are actually justified in using the word "finally". I hope that by December this year, this forum becomes irrelevant and this thread dies out completely.
They don't have Service Canada desks at airports anymore AFAIK. Been like that for almost 2 years now.You didn’t get it at the airport?
Thanks, mate. Been waiting for this for so long - no more worries about visa extensions, stampings, H1B lotteries... Can just live life now.Congrats bro,I am really happy you finally made it.Welcome to canada
It's mainly just the pay. Tax is on par with most American states (WA and TX are exceptions ). One would make like 90% in CAD of what they would get in USD in big US cities in the tech industry. And the rent is actually quite comparable to west coast cities even after accounting for the lower pay. So, I'm not feeling the pinch.I think in Torronto finding a job is very easy if you are in supply chain ,IT,BI.... The pay ,rent and tax is what makes it hard there.
Thanks! I've been holding onto a job offer for a long time and will finally join next week. Will start the apartment hunt tomorrow.Good luck, hope you can get an apartment and employment sorted as soon as possible.
Congrats! Another one bites the dust!I just got PPR. I'm beside myself rn
Interesting, shows how long I’ve been away. They don't have Service Canada desks at airports anymore AFAIK. Been like that for almost 2 years now.
I hope the tech industry catches on in Calgary. I see some startups coming up these days. Living close to Banff is worth a paycut IMOI agree, if you are early in your career Toronto's better. If you are experienced and have quality work experience, then get a job in Alberta (preferably before you move there)
Lol @“finally”, I think that should be reserved for me…I'm glad people in this thread are getting their PPRs. And for once they are actually justified in using the word "finally". I hope that by December this year, this forum becomes irrelevant and this thread dies out completely.
