I'm literally on the same boat. Just that the same morning I got a call from the hospital that they were sending my medicals I got the remed request, but I had already done the upfront a week prior.
So it seems something definitely happened with my app, although I can't tell if it's the upfront, mailing the minister, or the multiple webforms I raised asking why they haven't renewed my medicals/asked for new medicals.
I've been back to the hospital to inform on the situation (like
@SumAli suggested) and they just told me to hang on for a bit, IRCC will link them both.
