Liberals promise to control pandemic, fight climate change and rebuild economy in throne speech
'Priority number one remains getting the pandemic under control,' says Governor General

The Liberal government is promising to bring the pandemic to an end while building the economy, fighting climate change, rolling out new child care deals with the provinces and pursuing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

Gov. Gen. Mary Simon, Canada's first Indigenous governor general, unveiled those priorities today in a speech from the throne that pointed to progress in the relationship between the federal government and Indigenous peoples.

"Already, I have seen how Canadians are committed to reconciliation. Indigenous Peoples are reclaiming our history, stories, culture and language through action," Simon said In a speech delivered in English, French and Inuktitut.

"Non-Indigenous peoples are coming to understand and accept the true impact of the past and the pain suffered by generations of Indigenous Peoples. Together, they are walking the path toward reconciliation."

Simon said that, to strengthen that relationship, the federal government will take action on health care and climate change and get to the root of what took place at residential schools across the country.

Since the early spring, several Indigenous communities across the country have reported the discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves at the sites of former residential schools.
All this lip service about indigenous people when they are literally in the process of taking their land and damaging its environment to build an oil pipeline. Be it immigration or these issues, its all talk lol

I just got my first legitimate GU!!
Oct 2020 fsw-o with medical expired last month.
Could this GU be for medical extension? Nothing has changed in my profile regarding medical though, it still says “ you do not need a medical exam”
Medical extension depends on COR, maybe security was started?

How can I know if my COR falls under countries that get medical extensions? Is there a list or something?
Not sure if there is a list but most applicants from developing countries like India, Pakistan, etc., will not get extensions. Wait and see if there is a new date for MEP in your account.

Mary Simon, the governor-general hinted that the government will increase immigration levels and decrease wait times during the throne speech. Even though, she wasn’t explicit about this, it’s a positive note that immigration is still taken seriously in the Parliament
Barely awake at 6 am this morning, I was skimming through page 1255 here (I do that once every few hours it appears). I haven't woken up so uplifted in a long while. The news of everyone's progress doesn't impact my FSW submission last October, well, not sure how much it does. But, it gave me a boost of hope which I was lacking for a while now. It seemed a little bleak. I'm a happy, cheery individual, but these processes has taken a toll on my state, as it must have for a lot of us.

Them much concerned about the pandemic. if they gave a quarter of the concern to control the housing crisis, it'd have helped their own people.
Wow wow hold your horses cowboy. You want libliars to go and talk about actual issues? That's completely against their philosophy. Libs are chronic liars who will cater to the fetishes of softasses with all the shittalk about climate and pandemic while conveniently (and blatantly) ignoring actual problems because the softasses who vote for them are in a never ending denial of the facts and they'd rather post hashtag shit on twitter and feel that they've "participated" in the efforts to solve some issues.
