Hi I am new here have been a silent observer in the past few months - being in the pool since October this year. I doubt there will be FSW draws in 2021. The backlog is huge it seems reasonable to clear at least 50% of it before inviting more people to the queue. But I do hope hope they keep FSW. I can understand if they wanted NOC based immigration or target “lower” skilled workers. But I find this high skill/low skill thing misleading a bit. My partner and I both have Masters but I wouldn’t mind doing something else especially in the first few years. I would even start a small business in Canada once I am there and get to know the country and it’s demand a bit better. Or would consider learning something new and jumping to another field like healthcare. But it would be beneficial to actually be there and observe the environment and job market first. But even if I do something else I am still a high skilled worker and able to speak decent English and I am relatively young.

If you asked me I would say that it would be a great approach if they closed current FSW pool and invited people already in the pool based on the currently determined selection factors. If they want to restructure FSW (this is the rumour that I keep hearing) then maybe once they determine the new selection factors they can reopen the pool so people can enter under the new set of rules.

There are rumours spreading that Australia is opening in 2022 and wants to boost immigration a lot. If not Canada then I will certainly look Australia. Canada would be better for us as it is closer to Europe and weather is similar that of Europe where we live (foliage, 4 seasons). I think if Canada doesn’t act then sooner or later Australia might reap skilled migrants.

But yeah it is true that it is their country so they can do things the way it is more beneficial to them.

This is my opinion. What do you think?

and what's your CRS? Noc?
478, my partner is the main applicant with 2132 - not a popular NOC for PNPs. Reaching 30 end of next year.. 473 would still be decent though

Alberta invites 293 immigration candidates in new PNP draw
Immigration candidates with CRS scores as low as 300 have been invited through the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Alberta released details of an immigration draw held on October 12.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 293 Express Entry candidates with scores of at least 300 to apply for a provincial nomination.

This is the first draw held by the province this month. Over the course of September, Alberta held four Alberta Express Entry stream draws each with minimum score requirements of 300. A total of 1,610 invitations were issued last month alone.

Alberta has now invited 5,910 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination since it resumed invitation rounds in January 2021. It had taken a temporary hiatus in the latter months of 2020. The draws send invitations to Express Entry candidates to apply for a nomination certificate, which will greatly support their permanent residency application. This year, Alberta is allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates.

Looks like there's only one or two AINP draws left in 2021.

if they have selected "All provinces" during the profile creation, then they should have received the NOI isn't it ?
I was checking the Alb express entry stream portal for this info.
Not quite sure but I've seen people advising that selecting All provinces is fine. No first hand experience with it though; I had selected AB exclusively.
