As of now, Aug 1-5 AORS are starting to have BG in progress

Very useful thread. I'll join. I have 464 in EE and hope to get ITA in the upcoming couple of months. Have experience in several nocs, but main noc is 0601.

Definitely the points will gradually go down within next year. With your points, it's expected to get an ITA.

All the best

Welcome to the group.. decent score.. you will likely get an ITA this year (perhaps in 2 draws)
By the way we have a Facebook group in case you want to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/706456976121501/

I joined on FB. Will be glad to learn about other outland applicants' experience and share mine :)

Wish everybody to get PR in the nearest future.

I got my ITA in the latest draw(20th draw) and hope things move smoothly from here on :)

All the best to all applying!

I'd love to join FB group as well. Do you guys know how to keep it off other people's newsfeed? I want to keep a low profile in terms of my immigration plans...

Absolutely right.. Gabbana.
I submitted my application on Aug 5th. The BG changed to in progress just yesterday. Around 17 hours back.

Now, the golden question. What's the timeline from now on? Assuming positive DM/PPR.

You could set up a separate facebook using a new email (and made up name if you want) that would do the job

I got BG in process from 31st October but no movement since... how long does it usually take from BG in process to DM/PPR? I saw that for most outlanders, it took hours or maximum 2-3 days.. but mine has been 2 weeks so I'm worried now. Is that normal for outlanders? I've only seen such a long gap for CEC/ Inland before...

Same here mate, I too am wondering the same thing... My background check turned to "In progress" on november 3rd.... But aftert that, no further update...

I suppose we have to wait till end of November, to get a positive response.... ::)

Got the same update almost the same time as yours. And i am also asking that same question as yours. Good luck to us!

Who else feels it would be greatly interesting if CIC could tweak their PPR process for Outland applicants, such that PPRs are directly sent by the LVOs? That way, we don't have to flood their various service channels with avoidable requests to have it changed. For instance, the PPRs for Outlanders could be modified to read:--

" And if you are outside US & Canada, a correspondence has been sent to your local visa office in line with your current contact address; you can arrange to have your international passports and passport photograph sent to them, ............."

This becomes a win-win process, as applicants would not have wait endlessly just to have their LVO send another PPR; AND CIC agents would likewise have less work to do processing request for "visa office change"
