I concur. I am a US resident and a May AORrer. I got DM last week thought but the waiting game continues. Its nerve wracking.

Best of luck, I'm sure it'll be a positive decision and you'll get PPR very soon. You waited for too long, you deserve good news! Keep us posted please

Hi guys!

I landed on October 9th in Montreal Trudeau Airport, easy-peasy!

It feels great :D !

We're very happy for you and we'll try our best not to envy you :D

From my observations, the magic 64 worked mostly for European VO's. Duskyblue your 64 days start tomorrow (or today if you're in Europe). I'm hoping you get PPR within the next 24 hours! Best of luck

Hahaha good one Sunil... you know reading these comments, I was thinking that if we all land in Canada, we should have a party together there... :D

Sure ...why not .....we not not miss a single opportunity to party in life

Maybe, but I have the same local VO as LePetitMotard and did not get any update on magical 64th. It's been 71 days now.

Why on earth a US resident would need to enter EE to move to Canada?

Because a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush ;D
I am a student here and I need to at least have this, do you dig? :D

A quick update for my fellow US applicants.

BG check finally changed to "in progress" a few mintues ago.

I've been asked to submit FBI certificates for myself and my spouse. The ones we submitted at the time of application (May 25) were still valid--they were about 5.5 months old at the time...just under the six month cut off CIC lists on its website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

To be extra safe, we applied for fresh certificates in April. Mine came through in July; spouse's is still pending.

As luck would have it, CIC sent a letter this morning asking for FBI certs. I likely confused them (as a fellow MAY AOR-er noted) with my LOE in which I had said, in short...attached are certs from Dec, 2014 but we've applied for new ones; here's proof; will send new certs later if required. Ack!! Overkill!

I'm going to wait as close to possible to the 7-days deadline and if we still don't have spouse's new cert, am going to upload whatever we have with another LOE drawing CIC's attention to the validity of the original documents at the time of initial submission. Another fellow MAY AOR-er kindly suggested possible wording.

Just wanted to share in case this info is useful to anyone applying from U.S.

Was there an email notification when background went to in progress???
