It's a good constructive idea, but i am so scared to plan, obviously laid out basic details as where to go and stay, how to find jobs, but other then that like i don't think much of it, what if something went wrong scenarios start clouding my head, it will be very difficult to start here again, though most of the time I am very positive, but with IRCC none of us can be sure.
I have this crazy idea that if i don't plan much, stay in present, and not look forward much then everything will be fine, does anyone else feels this way? Or maybe I am the crazy one:eek::D
Im also in this state most of the time yes :) When its time, I'll move on to other things.

Things that affect security screening are the following:-

1 - Travel History to safe countries usually isn't a big deal. It just delays it slightly for the added time taken to check with the those countries if required. USA and Canada have intelligence sharing so it's a matter of checking off on US criminal database etc.
2 - Travel to unsafe countries are usually the ones with civil unrest, war, lack of stable government, governments with strong links to terrorism etc. Travel to those countries could add to the timelines if they decide to do deeper checks. Also, if you are a citizen of any of these countries, you can anticipate delays. Not all nationalities are treated equal when it comes to security checks so your nationality does make a difference.
3 - They are pretty experienced to check for red flags. Unexplained frequent trips to a war torn country will raise suspicion compared to tourist visits to a country in Europe.
4 - Previous government, military or police department experience does increase security screening. Government, military or police work in a war torn or a country associated with terrorism - God help you.
5 - Finally the IRCC blackhole. The unexplained. Sometimes we see applications delayed for no reason really. It only takes an officer to put you into a deeper security check for whatever reason. It's not common but it does happen sometimes. They do not have the time or the resources to put every single applicant into deep security checks so they use their experience or anything they find suspicious to put you in a "spin". The deeper checks which take months!

Thanks @johnsyk for the detailed response. The above sure makes sense. And, as you quoted in one of your earlier posts that people living in Dubai generally have extensive travel histories but majority of people from UAE get cleared in around 100 days, so that's very reassuring. Anyways, can't do much about things which are out of our control...can't really reverse my travels from the past, and I must say I wouldn't want to do that either as I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it :)

Yea exactly, I will start to plan stuff and shop after PPR:D Btw I am too planning to go in October/November, Expecting PPR by august end or mid September.

How did you apply without a COPR? They all want a COPR or at least a PPR mail.
They have many options for eligibility to get registered to.
One of them was giving them our UCI number. I just entered mine and uploaded the screenshot of the page showing my UCI number in MyCIC.
It worked for me.

@jpv2212 What have you upload in the end as a supporting document? It says it has to be one of these:

  • An IRCC invitation to obtain pre-arrival services
  • A confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter/document
  • A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance
  • An IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete a medical examination
  • A Single Entry Permanent Resident Visa
  • A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter

I m a FSW -O Candidate and got the request to pay RPRF fees after 9 days since medical passed.

Meds Passed on 03June2017
RPRF Requested on 12June2017

Give it a couple of days, you should get it sooner.

Good luck.

Thank you so much. Would you know if IP1 has been completed at that point and IP2 is underway? I am applying through an agent and don't get as many as I want in the process.
