FSW - Moving back with Canadian wife

My husband is thinking of applying through the FSW program to come to Canada. We currently both reside in the UK, but want to move back to Canada.

In the questionnaire to find out whether you're eligible, they ask whether he is coming with a family member. He technically is, but I won't need to apply for anything as I am Canadian myself.

Should he simply tick no, and say he is coming alone?

It would be far (far far) simpler for you to just sponsor him for PR visa the spousal sponsorship route. If you follow that path, there will be no need for him to take a language test or get his education assessed. And also no need for him to wait in the Express Entry pool hoping he's got enough points to be selected.

Going the spousal sponsorship route instead is a no-brainer.

I'm in the same boat. I'm American, wife is Canadian, we've been living in the U.S. We want to move back, but the Spousal Sponsorship waiting times are ridiculous, so I applied for FSW Express Entry Visa since I'm qualified and it's a lot quicker. (Got my ITA November 27th, submitted my application and got my AOR on January 26th. Now waiting on pins and needles!) I've asked this exact question in the forums and basically, yes, all he has to do is tick "No" when asked if his wife is part of the application and moving to Canada with him.

If I would be you, I would have my wife sponsored me. Because FSW has cap limit, and I wouldn't want to be taking away that opportunity from someone else.
