From looking at the CIC web page at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

It is expecting to show the Number of complete applications counted

So, by "complete applications", I suspect that it will be between A & B.

Incomplete applications will not be counted but there is no mention of any further validation before being counted.

Of course, we have no information available that says how many of the last years applicants were unsuccessful, even if they were within the cap for each NOC. There must be an expected percentage of failures, so CIC probably allow for that when they set the limits for the year.

Very true, but how many of these 5000 have their ECA by WES ready?
Maybe 10%? I believe it will take not less than 3 months

Folks, it shud definitely not be A. I found this note in the above CIC link

Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office.

A is typically the opposite of bolder portion. I think it will be between B and C.

How often do you guys think they update the list with "Number of complete applications counted"?

I am just wondering if it's too late to submitt my application in september....:(

The Answer is without a doubt in my book "B".....persons who have their files sent back to them stating that they did not sign/failed completeness checks DO NOT count towards the target of 300..... Once the applicant clears the round and get PER.....it is then counted towards the 300. (an application successfully meeting the application mandates and the Ministerial instructions for that specific years intake)

Lilian their website states that the cap updates will be posted each week, this has not been the case thus far......we are however hopeful that we will get an update this week and none was posted last week.

Thank you islandbabe! :) that's not good news, indeed :(.....

I haven't started doing all the application paperwork, including the test language and all the rest; I guess it will take me about 2 months to have everything done, am I right? Have you guys sent your application already?

PS: I appreciate your quick reply

Greetings from Romania :)

Thanks for the greetings.....you are late to the game unfortunately, it really depends on the NOC category that you fall under....if it one of the noc's considered as hot, then its almost a certainty that you missed it........if its a really unpopular one they you may still be very much able to submit and be successful. :) Along with the IELTS, please remember the ECA as well.

Wow its not a "Hot Noc" but its still popular in my opinion. See below our tracker/spreadsheet for the 2013 applicants per noc category and some assumptions/calculation re this year. You can use that info along with the Cap updates and make your decision. All the best.

It would be absolutely scandalous if it was A. To be totally transparent, it should be C but I don't think CIC have time to go through the whole process again if some candidates drop out in the last stage. So I think we will all settle for B.

well if you could prepare all your paper work plus forms ready in a month and sent it on 1st august, there is a hope unless your NOC is not a hot one. i've sent my application on 3rd july and i am still worried about the cap reach as my NOC is a hot one. if there is a slight mistake in your application like any field or signature is missing/document is missing they will return your application. if you are unable to prepare your package until the end of this month then be patient and apply for the next year when the program will re-open in may.

best of luck
cheers

To count within the cap the application must have
1) Passed the completeness check
2) Successfully charged card / cashed bank draft

Any completeness check failure, or payment problems, and the application will not count within the cap.

However this is BEFORE any eligibility review. If an application passed the completeness check, and then even if it fails the initial eligibility review at CIO, it will still count within the cap and permanent take up a place that another application cannot replace.
