Hi Gopaldutt,
I am also a first time applicant. PCC, IELTS, Proof of funds and filled in application along with other required docs are a pre-requisite for applying. If you submit PCC later, then there is a good chance that your application would fall into the backlog. Its not difficult to get a PCC either. Are you in India or in USA?

I think PCC and mark sheet evaluation comes at a later stage once the application is shortlisted. Though I am not sure about this at this stage. As of now I am only preparing for documents, and arranging them, also preparing for IELTS. Any other inputs??

Very nice thread with lots of information. I a software engineer and my wife is a dentist planning to immigrate to Canada. We both have IELTS scores ready.

I dont have a birth certificate and I have started the procedure to get it.

Going through the posts I got a query regarding proof of funds.

Is it fine transfer $17,011 to my bank account and show what ever proof as required? Or will the CIC check the bank statement over last few months? In that case it would be a problem right?

hi, i m not expert , but you have to prove that this is your money, you get this amount from where, and it must be still in your account till you got visa. ( no in /out in account ), because they can request several time for bank statement (6 time, as i read some where). experts/seiners will give you better info.

You will get all forms to fill and guidance

i have heard there will be 24 points for the first official language instead of 16 as earlier??
